  • the lobster bisque was o.k. the lamb shank with basmati rice was simply awful -- the lamb was bland and the rice was bloated and overcooked. i don't know how even a novice chef could serve rice that was so obviously overcooked the kernels were twice the size of properly cooked basmati. the ice-cream i ordered looked and tasted like it had been sitting around for several months in the bottom of the freezer -- yuk!

  • Order: lobster bisque, lamb shank with basmati rice, ice cream

  • Quiet atmosphere, they weren't too busy. The wait staff was pleasant.
The food was ok. The overeasy eggs were close to hard and the potatoes were luke warm.
The price of the coffee seemed a bit high. I was told it was a premium blend, but wasn't that great too me. Balzac's has a much higher quality.
If all the other breakfast spots are busy I may return.

  • Order: Ordered the "Bella" Breakfast with coffee.

  • The corn chowder soup was not very flavourful but worse yet it contained a shelf bracket. No apology or consideration was given to the cost of the meal. we should have left at that point. The sweet potato soup was more like baby food from a jar. The beef sandwich was dry and the meat was poor quality. The roasted vegetable sandwich had vegetables that looked like they may have been left over from the previous day. I will not go back again.

  • Order: corn chowder soup, sirloin sandwich, sweet potato soup, roasted vegetable sandwich

  • Two guests wanted steak (it was on the menu and we weren't told they were out of it until after the waiter returned from the kitchen) and the presentation of the meals was sloppy and not pleasant. At the price they were charging for the Paella I expected a better balance of "meat" to couscous. All vegetables were over-cooked. The Sweet Potato fries and dip were tasty but the disproportionate sizing of the fries meant that some were cooked and others were not.

The wine which the waiter recommended was excellent and we enjoyed the bread and chick pea spread.

  • Order: Paella special, pork tenderloin, pork tenderloin stirfry and lamb shank.

  • As a Stratford local I have the pleasure of a wide selection of places to dine. Bella Della remains one of my fav's. With the intimate setting, stunning cuisine and attentive service, Bella Della scores a ten. Complete with a dine in bistro, serving somthing different daily, it is worth visiting again and again! Half the store is actually a deli / bakery, serving up a host of delectable items for take-out. Bella Della also places a focus on gluten free products. www.belladella.ca
