Angie's Black Angus Restaurant

The chalk board over the open kitchen has dozens of specials listed throughout the week and lists and lists of items. We were given a menu however.

My GF settled on eggs over easy with sausage and some sort of breakfast potato. I spoted a Monte Cristo sandwich which is a favourite of mine and to my knowledge only served at one other place in town.
Service was very odd. The waitress was an older lady that seemed to be on another planet. The service wasn't terrible...but it certainly wasn't good....it was just odd. Never seemed to able to get her attention...she forget several things and then charged me for them anyway...and NEVER APOLOGIZED. What is worse is she never once asked "how is everything"..or...on check out..."how was your breakfast"....and no thanks for coming in. GF's eggs were ok...the sausage was a bit on the dry side...a sure sign that they are sitting in the corner of the grill. The breakfast potatos...ho-hum.

My Monte Cristo was one of the worst excuses for that sandwich I have ever seen. Two pieces of white bread...obviously mass produced stuff...dipped in egg with a single slice of preformed ham like substance in the middle. If there was cheese I can't recall....I was trying to get over the fact that I just paid $6 or $7 for two pieces of bread a little egg wash and a single slice of packaged ham from the supermarket. Needless to say it was NOT good. The bread was soggy, and ham tough (as expected)

Needless to say....we will not be going back.

Haven't been in since the recent reno's (Aug '08) but I love this place. Great service, excellent steak, and a very relaxed atmosphere (not fancy at all). Honestly it is 50 times better than the Keg and it will only cost you a few extra dollars. Massive cocktails (free-pour) the a very old-school friendly environment. See you soon!

I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I would and have taken anyone there! My kids, visiting relatives, friends, etc. My son has many allergies and ALL the staff have been very friendly and accommodating to provide him with a meal that is both healthy and safe for him to eat. The desserts are delcious and cheap!! My personal recommendation is for anything beef, hot beef, hot hamburger, mushroom burger is to die for!! I can't imagine anyone ever complaining about this place as we have been there so many times and always wonderful. So, for those of you complaining about the greasy fish, it IS a BEEF specializing restaurant, check the nam. Also, your fish and chips are undoubedly FRIED in any restaurant you go to so the oil is to be expected!! Do yourself a favour and give this restaurant another chance!!

Party of 4 great food, Chicken Cheddar Melt not on the menu but a special.it was great burger, We also had fish and chips, great fish. The other couple with us had hot beef sandwiches they were tender and melt in your mouth. We will be back many times.
Service was exellent served with polite, smiling girl.

i orderd spaghetti and meatballs and i had a young waitress always with a smile on her face she came back and refilled my coffee once or twice the service was excellent my food was warm but not to warm desserts were amazing and all the waitress's were very polite and friendly all in all ide have to say it was one of best eatery's ive ever seen!!!

The servers were overwhelmed with the full dining room and could not possibly give proper service. Burgers were not thoroughly cooked. We could see flies in the kitchen and behind the counter. Revolting.

Food is nothing special, service OK, prices reasonable

Exellent steak cooked to perfection. Fries and gravy are great
The desserts are to die for, Strawberry Pie, 2.75 a slice fresh great.

We both had the fish and chips....we had noticed the table across from us DABBING their fish with paper towel. We thought "they don't want the grease". NOOOOO we were wrong....we too had to DABB ours.....WAY too greasy. The wait staff barely smiled and never came back to ask us if eveything was okay or to even refill our coffee. Bad day for them... maybe but for us it sure was.

Both meals that we had were delicious. The breakfast club is especially fantastic with peameal bacon, egg, tomato and cheese. I would highly recommed this restaurant.
