  • We decided to go and have a couple of drinks and some apps on Wednesday night. Was disappoint from the moment we walked onto the patio. Our table was very dirt with dirt grap and dust. I asked the waitress to please clean off the table. She took our drink order and dropped off some menus. We got our drinks and befor whipping the table and bird crap she placed all the drinks down on the dirty table much to my surprise. She simply smeared the crap around on the table.....disgusting. Now about the service .... We waited 20 min. For our waitress and I finally got up to go look for her inside the restaurant...by the way the place was not busy at all....she saw me coing into the doors and popped up to see what I wanted. I asked her sarcastically if this place serves food? She followed me back to our table where she took our order. The apps were tasty but far too expensive for the size of portions we received. The Korean rib strips were all bone and no meet, waitress nothing about the ingredients after asking her what was in it. To end the evening our waitress dropped the dirty knives and forks on my friends pants, staining them. Not impressed at all. I have been there to this place several times and unfortunately see it slowly going down hill with both the service and the food. I wish them the best but things must change before I will come back to eat there again.

  • Order: Korean rib strips, calomarie, beef medalians, brucettta

  • Definitely nice to see this gem back in action and under smart mangement. The staff are friendly, courteous and very good at their job. The cooking staff are also to be commended for doing their job of keeping us coming back for more. It's nice to see that "presentation" has made it's way back to the dining room table of a restaurant along with a simplified dessert menu that makes choosing fast and easy without having to make long decisions. The waitstaff are very knowledgeable of their wine menu and daily specials and provide you with the details in a way that doesn't sound repieitious or boring. And the bartenders are great too if you're just stopping in for a wee pint. I'd like to see more live entertainment there, especially back down on the floor. Band/crowd interaction is very important. Otherwise you may as well just have a jukebox. But please, don't get a jukebox. Really. Please don't.
Greatest place for fine dining in Stoney Creek. Nobody else come close.

  • Order: I'm trying to have everything from the menu. Just not all at once.

  • The owner came to our table and was exceptionally kind. I was a celebrant in a Retirement dinner. He went above and beyond to cater to our tables. I was totally impressed with the restaurant, loved the atmosphere, the service. The food was great, the portions were generous. Would go again a a "heartbeat". Great venue for large group dinners. Also perfect for singles/couples. Loved the Bar. The Decor is Unique.

  • I have never felt so humiliated in my life the very owner of the place ask us to leave simply because my two little kids were acting like what they are, kids. He tolds this is not a McDonalds and my kids should stay still. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and what a surprise with this guy, former owner of the Vicar's Vice which I liked but a total ignorant. I will recommend everybody to stay away

  • Order: not finish my meal

I would have done the same if i was the owner. Restaurants like the Powerhouse are not playgrounds, and most go to a quality restaurant to avoid those kind of distractions.

  • We were greeted warmly and ushered to our table, drinks offered and specials explained by a very friendly server. We chose mussels as an appetizer, and salmon for our main entree, included in the Thursday special was also dessert and 2 glasses of champagne. We got our appetizer promptly and it was delicious! Our entree was also wonderful, cooked just right and very tasty, with rice or potatoes and shrimp. Dessert was good too, strawberry crepes, presentation of all food was very attractive. Server was very attentive. The people at the table next to us were also enjoying their meal as we discovered. I can't wait to go back on a Tuesday and try the mussel bar. Keep up the good work, Graham, we will now come here.

  • Order: Mussels with white wine sauce as an appetizer, Salmon entree, strawberry crepes for dessert, house red wine

  • Went to the Powerhouse for lunch today. I ordered French onion soup. Not that great for the price of $7. I make it better! My son had stew which looked like it came from a can. I make stew loaded with hearty vegetables. The stew was served with 2 crackers! Like where is the bread? We were disappointed to say the least.

  • Order: French onion soup and stew.

  • I went here for my Birthday with my husband. We got there fairly early and were greeted and brought to a beautiful two person balcony that overlooked the restaurant but was nice and quiet. Most interesting decor I have seen in awhile. The atmosphere is relaxed and yet dressy. The waiter was prompt and was good at making sure our meals were done the way we liked it. The food was amazing and we will be definitely returning again.

  • The decor of The Old Powerhouse would indicate that its patrons are about to have a high-end dining experience. The atmosphere, seating arrangements and menu provide for both casual and fine dining.
Unfortunately, the food and service did not match the building and atmosphere. Here's why:
While waiting for my dinner, I observed the male buffet attendant wipe his nose with his bare hand. He did not go anywhere to wash up.
I ordered the Halibut and Fries but they were not hot; the fries were all from the ends of the potatoes and the halibut tasted and looked like bluefish and was soggy, indicating that it was not likely prepared at the correct oil temperature.
The tea tasted institutional. It too was not hot and when the waitress was asked to bring another tea, she was confrontational. The key lime pie was obviously made from a starchy mix. The presentation, however, was very well done.
All in all, if the owner wants to stay in business, he or she needs repeat customers. For that to happen I suggest that the owner monitor his / her staff carefully for appropriate restaurant manners and behaviours, serve high end, fresh, not frozen food, and remunerate staff appropriately so that each member is more pleasant, always putting the client first. This is a business whose staff has highly portable skills. Keep them loyal and working up to standards by offering appropriate training, benefits and pay. They will stick by you and your business will grow...... but not on my dollar!

  • Order: Halibut and Fries, Key Lime Pie, Tea

  • What a nice surprise, greeted with warmth, service with a smile, plenty of excellent food and beverages. For a New year's party, this was by far one of the best, most fune I've had. Mostly likely too much fun, but the owner was always checking to make sure everyone had enough, were having a good time, could he be of further assistance. Very well done Graham! Highly recommend this venue for lunch/dinner.

  • The Ben & Kerry show Breakfast Morning is why we went. The staff & managers were very friendly and took the time to come over and talk to us about the history of the building. The food was excellent, buffet style. I don't know what the regular prices are because we came for The Ben & Kerry show Breakfast Morning and we only paid $5.00 each.

The staff were quick at removing empty plates and constantly topping up our coffees. Definitely worth a trip back
