This is a wonderful place to dine whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast menu is available until 3 p.m. each day. With five different eggs benedicts to choose from, it's amazing. Dinners are exquisite. Prices are very reasonable. Reservations are recommended because the secret is out and they are very busy.

In a nutshell, this restaurant has good food, but it's not worth the price paid.
The ceasar salad I ordered was particularly disappointing; it was presented very attractively, but there was nothing 'authentic' about the taste - the dressing tasted like it was store bought. The tenderloin was actually quite good though, and I liked the fact that you could order a variety of different sauces to accompany it. The vegetables served with the meal were presented nicely, but again, did not taste spectacular, and there wasn't much of them.
The atmosphere was great however; the dining room is very open and modern looking, with large windows providing a great view of the golf course.
Again, good food, but you can get much better at other steak houses in the city for a similar price.

I play golf at the Amberwood Golf Club weekly but had not eaten at the restaurant since it re-opened. My wife and I were joined by two other couples and were looking forward to a great meal. We immediately felt comfortable when we entered the restaurant and were quickly greeted and taken to our table. We had reservations and I would recommend them as it was a Saturday night and busy. The dining room looks out over the golf course and is nicely decorated with warm tones. We were seated in a booth that held all of us and was very comfortable and cozy. The wait staff was very attentive and 3 of us ordered the goat cheese stuffed pork chop which was excellent. All of our meals were delivered with nice presentation and were piping hot. From the bread to the veggies and potatoes everything was excellent. We all ordered sticky toffee pudding for desert which capped off an excellent meal. We will most definitely be back!

I have visited the Wild Wood on many occasions with family and friends. I have never had a bad experience, both the food and attentativness to service has been fantastic. My husband's favourite breakfast is the Montreal smoked meat eggs benedict...he says it's the best he's ever had. My favourite is on the dinner menu...the beef tenderloin is to die for...juicy & cooked to perfection. Thanks for providing us with a great dining option without having to go downtown. WE WILL BE BACK

We went there last night and were disappointed. The place was almost empty compared to our initial visit shortly after it was opened. The experience started with finding a pad of butter in my menu upon opening it. I showed it to the waitress who simply said "Oh, that's gross" and took it away without replacing it (OK just a bad start). She later returned and took our drink order. No problem except she took the menus away when she dropped off the drinks (strike 2). We eventually got the menus back and proceeded to order; however, we subsequently discovered that there was a "special" dinner available that was never mentioned. I ordered a steak, while others ordered the halibut or chicken. The meals were good, well prepared and presented; however, I did find the steak to be "underwhelming" considering that this is a steak & chop house. I seemed like it was cooked from a frozen state, laking the usual natural juices you would expect. All in all the meals were good and the dining room atmosphere was very nice considering the view and the live singing entertainment that almost went unnoticed being tucked away from the half dozen groups in the dining room. The real problem was the service. First there was the menu issues (the butter, their absence and what about specials); we were never asked how our meals were (good but nobody seemed to care); we had to ask for water and more coffee (please make it hot this time) and we left without so much as a thanks for coming. It was just a total lack of customer service that perhaps was reflected by the lack of patrons in a restaurant that clearly has lots going for it but needs a much more personal/wecoming touch to attract the folks in the neighborhood. Many of these things could be overlooked if the staff were run off their feet because of the crowd ...... but the place was virtually empty.

Went there two weeks ago with the wife and had a superb meal. My Caesar salad was crispy, cold and topped with real bacon bits and garlicky dressing. Wife's Fr. Onion soup was terrific, she said. Two sirloin steaks were perfectly done, topped with garlic butter and delicious. Veggies were super-tasty; never knew beats could taste so good! Chocolate mouse was mile high and scrumptious. Great house wine and coffee. One of the best meals we have had in ages. Perfect for a special occasion but be prepared to pay; it was too pricey otherwise for these retirees. Atmosphere leaves something to be desired as it is all quite open and cafeteria-looking.

As new parents, my husband and I haven't had a night out in AGES, so our expectations were pretty high for the Wild Wood. They were met, with a few very minor complaints.
The atmosphere was very nice: romantic and well-appointed. We were seated in what felt like the middle of the room, right in front of a piano and fireplace, with staff and customers whizzing by almost constantly at first. This annoyed me, and I asked the hostess for another table, but apparently they were all booked that night. (Later, I asked our server if you could request specific tables, ie: by a window, and she said yes, so I would definatley recommend doing that.) Soon, the traffic by our table slowed down as the tables filled up, and once the piano player began it felt much more relaxing.
My husband had the crab and portobello mushroom bisque to start, and claimed it was the best soup he's ever had! My spinach salad was fantastic. I chose the goat cheese-stuffed pork chop, and it was phenomenal: I didn't think pork chops could taste that good! It was crisp and peppery on the outside, but juicy and tender on the inside, and the goat cheese filling paired well with the fruity topping (cranberries and ?). My husband had the halibut, which he thought was average. Well cooked, but somewhat below expectations. Both entrees came with vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes; no complaints with either. For dessert, he had the cheesecake (fabulous), and I had a rich, delicious Lindt chocolate torte.
The service was quick and polite, the wine list was extensive, and the piano player was a nice touch. We will definately return, but with a request for a window seat and no halibut next time.
- Order: Crab & mushroom bisque, spinach salad, goat cheese stuffed pork chop, halibut, cheesecake, Lindt chocolate torte.

We went to Wild Wood for a friends birthday party this past saturday night in their private room (We had about 30 people in our party)..
The meal was a set menu for this event, with choices of mushroom & crab bisque or ceasar salad or garden salad to start. (All of which everyone at the table were raving about but I personally had the bisque which was to die for! I also loved the presentation of the garden salad in a cucumber bowl..very creative.) Main course chioces were leek wrapped salmon, chicken breast and new york steak, I can't remember the exact descriptions but again everything was fantastic. I had the steak, medium-rare but asked the waitress for it to be slightly more on the rare side and when it came out it was prefection. The garlic mashed potatos, veggies and jack daniels peppercorn sauce were perfect sides. Everyone who chose the salmon were plesantly suprised by the beet sauce that accompanied the dish, delightful! I did not get a chance to try the chicken but it looked great as well.
All in all everyone left raving about how great everything was and we have actually planned our work christmas party there because of how great it was. - Order: Crab & Mushroom bisque, New York Steak, Garlic mashed potatoes, Seasonal veggies (asparagus, zuchini and squash), peppercorn dip
