Royal Orchid

We started getting takeout from here when it first opened. The food was wonderful. Then the menu changed. The food was still good, but there was less of what we liked. Then it changed again. The last time I called, I was told that they don't offer anything that we used to order, including Pho. The sign outside still clearly says Pho on it, but I was told it's not available. It's one thing to change a menu to be seasonal. It's another to arbitrarily drop things from it. We can't keep up, and have stopped calling.

This was the first outing of the Sir Winston Churchill Cultural Club, and it was a great success. While I'm by no means an expert on Thai food, I would definately say that this restaurant is on par with the other Thai restaurants in town. The food is great. I can only recommend more or less everything we ordered (See above.) The food was resonably hot, and while I probably have a higher tolerance to spice than most westerners, everyone in our party was able to eat everything.
All in all, a great experience, and definately a resteraunt I would visit again.

We went here for a going away party and they easily accoumodated us. The food was great - I am not sure of all the "correct names" of the food we ordered, but I can tell you there was not a bad dish to be had. We ordered several courses and the waitress's (hot) brought them out one after another as we ate - it was great. Be warned though - this is very Thai - lots of Hot and Sweet intermixed and the hot is hot!
We didn't like the very - Thai Iced Coffee or Iced Tea - they were very sweet.
Would we go again - we plan on it - it's a nice hidden away restaurant, and has a really nice outside porch as well that you can eat at.
