Red Onion Eatery

BIG MISTAKE!!!!
I had been here with my family (party of four) about 4 years ago and loved it. Service was professional and attentive - candle on the table - nice music - I had a stuffed chicken breast with asparagus - YUMMY!!! This is what I thought I was getting. I reserved for 7 people well in advance for a Monday night - my elderly mother was taking us all out to dinner. I should have walked out when nobody even offered to seat us. I looked around and found our table in the BAR area. There were about 6 men standing drinking beer about 10 feet away from us. It was cold in there. The bar maid came over, wearing JEANS and a little tight black top. Should have left. OK, so it's a bar now. I get it. But since we reserved far ahead, couldn't they have added a server for us instead of using the bar maid? We moved OURSELVES in to the other room and moved the tables together OURSELVES. The food was just no good. They FORGOT my 80 year old mother's order altogether and she waited until we were 3/4 of the way through our meal to get it. I thought of calling and complaining, but what would we get? A gift certificate? I don't WANT to go back. I don't think they really would have cared anyway. It's a bar. Expect a bar. By the way, the server was nice enough. I don't blame her.

I was leary of going here in the first place but it had changed hands. Really wished we had choosen somewhere else.

I had the hot roast beef sandwich as did my dh. The beef was at best, 3 days old and extremely dry. It was smothered in gravy - I suppose to hide the fact that it was several days old and had been reheated many times.

The lettuce in the salad was limp at best. The tomatoes were the only fresh thing about it.

I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone nor will I ever return.

The owner Jimmy welcomed our large group into his restaurant. He is a very engaging social personality which makes you feel at home. Definately a place you will feel like coming back. The waitstaff is also very personable and provide great service. The food is very tasty here. Our large group ordered various things throughout the menu and we all loved it. Jimmy told us that they make alot of food is homemade from scratch and you can taste the differnce. We will definately go back and even book our family get togethers in the upstairs private party room which jimmy showed us. Eat there now :) !!!

When we noticed that the management had changed we decided to try the Red Onion again. We were very pleased with the decor, the food and the service. We met and talked with the owner after a most pleasant dinner. We plan to make Jimmy's Red Onion a favorite place to relax and have a pleasant dining experience.

Very Clean, nice casual dining, the kids loved it and we really enjoyed the food and friendly staff. Will always go back to eating at Jimmy's Red Onion since the change over in Mgmt.
Love the new decor. I inquired about bookings on their 2nd floor for events such as showers, meetings, weddings..etc.. the manager was very helpful and the $$$ was a very reasonable. Very Nice Family Restaurant!!!

Very good meal for the money. Nice place inside. We think it beats chain restaurants.

I enjoy eating there. family atmosphere If you visit ask for a waitress I believe her name is Hope. Very nice and friendly. always on her toes.

Our reading group has met monthly at the Red Onion for over a year and a half. The staff is always very friendly and helpful - leaving us alone to discuss our book and never making us feel rushed! The owner is just lovely - checking in with us at least twice through the evening to ensure everything is okay. The food is generally very good. With 5 women, our tastes all vary and it is very rare that someone is less than completely satisfied with their meal. Portions are generous (even the "small" pasta is big enough for leftovers for the next day!), and the menu has something for everyone on it. We wouldn't keep coming back every month if the food wasn't good! Our group has been together for 12 years - and we've tried different restaurants - and abandoned those with "no hope"! The only reason we change locations is due to poor food or to a restaurant closing (which has happened to us twice!)

salad ing were not crisp lettuce browning,ordered steaks med rare one was rare one was well done ,server did not want to correct this finally got the order right the owner hovered over us almost the whole time we were ther i told her it was a special day but she would not take the hint and leave us alone

We really enjoy this restaurant and have been there many times. The new chef even came out and asked us how our meal was. The service is always good and their staff is friendly.
