Mon-Bijou Dining Room

We went to the restaurant on a weekday evening and we were first hesitant to go in because we thought we were lost (the surrounding area is very residential). However, the meal was great. my boyfriend, who loves schnitzel, was very happy with his jager schnitzel, which was a very large portion and was worth it. I had the lamb with gravy and it was very tasty but the edges were a little tough but a great meal overall. The side dishes for both were ok, nothing special. Their house salad was also just ok. The host was very attentive. It was a great meal overall and our drive from Niagara to St. Cath was well worth it.

We were looking for Hospitality, Ambience, Attention to Detail, and a most excellent food, all our expectations were met. We visited on Holy Thursday. :)

We have been huge fans of Mon Bijou and owners and hosts Trudy and Karl for several years, following them from Burlington. Karl makes the absolute best jager schnitzel anywhere..ample sized, crisp, tender and moist, with his wonderful mushroom brandy sauce. Trudy makes the most delicious red cabbage to accompany, also served with perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. The lobster bisque is outstanding and I'm a lover of Karl's French onion soup. I like to finish with a raspberry chocolate tartufo, but we have also indulged in a great tiramisu and their chocolate mousse cake. They also serve a terrific decafe coffee. Trudy is a charming hostess and looks after her patrons well and Karl will usually pop out of the kitchen near the end of the evening to check on how everything was, and it is always consistantly delicious. Worth a visit anytime !

Great place for lunch and dinner! Excellent food and attentive, friendly service. The best schnitzel! Looking forward to dining here again.

The food is alway's amazing. The Lobster Bisque is the best thing I have ever eaten. I wish they sold it in Take-out!

The Jaeger schnitzal is the best I have had in fifteen years. They didn't tell us that they had spaetzel but when they found out we liked it an order was brought to our table right away without charge.Food was piping hot and the service was prompt.Hope that not to many people hear about this place as I don't want to have to line up to get in.

there were six people in our party and everyone had something different..everything from the ceasar salad,fresh bread, scallops, beef, lamb,schnitzel and pasta were cooked to perfection and mouthwatering..desert consisted of lemon mousse cake, creme brule and of course the house coffee..it's always a special treat to come down from oakville and have such a wonderful meal..st.catherines, you are lucky to have mon-bijou..trudy and karl are wonderful servers and chefs and always make us feel at home..i look forward to my next visit..

Immaculately clean, pleasant decor, superb food, served piping hot and with a beautiful presentation served by 2 very professional servers. A dining experience one is proud to take their guests to.
Our search for a Fine European Cuisine establishment has finally been met in this location of the Niagara area in St. Catharines.
We would highly recommend Mon Bijou to anyone who would like to impress their guests with a fine dining experience.

We have been fans of Mon Bijou for over 15 years, since it was in Oakville. Karl and Trudy always make us feel welcome, and even when we are the last to leave, they never rush us out the door. Karl always makes sure to have our favourites on hand when he knows we're coming. I like the fact that they take the time to know us and our tastes personally. Makes us feel right at home.

What a jewel of a restaurant! I am so pleased that I came here. The food was spectacular, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service superb. I'll be back with the whole family!
