Cafe Garibaldi

Please do not let the negative review below stop you from visiting this excellent restaurant. My family and I have been frequenting it for the past five years and are consistently impressed with the quality, presentation, and unique flavours of the food. In fact, my wife (a chef) enjoys visiting the restaurant for new ideas. A favourite is the beef tenderloin with raspberry sauce and goat cheese (cooked and seasoned to perfection). The service is always timely and attentive. Don't miss out on this gem!

Absolutely horrible restaurant, a true insult to the industry. The "smoked breast of duck" was extremely salty and truly tasted very much like a ham. Even if we assume that perhaps this is indeed how this dish is to taste when well prepared, the "vegetable medley" was a pile of over cooked, batch-steamed frozen vegetables with a pile of similar baby potatoes. Both plates, the duck and the pasta, were served with the IDENTICAL crude sides. It is truly the worst food for the most money we have ever come across in all our years as restaurant goers. I would have preferred to eat at McDonalds, yes, it is garbage, but at least it is cheap, and they don't pretend it's not garbage. Never, never, eat here. There are FAR better french influenced cuisine spots in St. Catharines.

We have been visiting Cafe Garibaldi almost since its opening over 10 years ago. You will not find more authentic, delicious Italian cuisine like this anywhere in the Niagara Region, if not in all of Ontario. It is that good! We dine there approximately once every two months and have yet to be disappointed. Remember that in order to experience true Italian cuisine made from scratch, you sometimes may have to wait a bit longer than your average franchise restaurant, but you will be duly rewarded with outstanding flavours, attention to presentation, attentive staff and a thoughtful wine list, just to mention a few of this hidden gem's treats! Cafe Garibaldi is the area's best kept secret!

A small, friendly and intimate cafe.Service was a little slow but accommodating and attentive. The menu was quite varied with something to satisfy every taste.The food was excellent and well presented. We will be back soon.

A very intimate atmosphere, excellent selection of wines. The staff are very attentive. All food is served a la carte, good selection of starters, entres and desserts, almost everything is cooked to order. I have food allergies and they were no problems with having my food prepared to meet my dietary needs. I have visited this restaurant a number of times and have sampled most of the items on the menu. If you get a chance to sample their cuisine you will not be disappointed. Its nice to visit a restaurant where you don't feel rushed to finished your meal and can relax and enjoy the experience.
