  • We went with a large group for a birthday so I didn't expect the service to be super fast or anything. We had our 20 month old daughter with us and I ordered her a grilled chesse, well after almost an hour I asked the woman if there was anyway we could get the grilled cheese because she was getting miserable, she tells us everyone was there before us so they came first, meanwhile people that got there way after us were getting their meals. My chicken fingers were burnt and tasted gross, my daughters curly fries were way better then the ones that came with our meals. The wings were really good but that's about all the good I can say about the simcoe arms. I would not go back just because of the customer service we received!! The blue elephant or Christians has just as good wings so go their instead!

  • Order: chicken fingers, wings, grilled cheese with fries

  • We went for dinner last night and I ordered the Stuffed Yorkie with a side salad. Where to start on this disastrous meal. I asked for Ranch dressing on the side, they gave me what tasted like caesar dressing. It was heavy with garlic and parmasean, ranch does not have garlic or parmasean in it. The server told me it was made in house. Good for them that they try to be fresh but, I have a garlic allergy. She offered to bring me Italian dressing, (hello, didn't I just say I have a garlic allergy???)

The Yorkie was served in the same pan it was cooked in, which is great for presentation, but the amount of oil in the bottom of the pan was totally disgusting. Add to that the fact that the Yorkshire was almost burnt on the top edges and extremely under cooked on the bottom. So I was eating an oily, and gooey pastry with sliced chicken breast and DICED asparagus spears that had been covered in a poorly made cream sauce to disguise the fact that there was only one or two baby spears diced up with the half a breast. So very not worth what they charged for it!

I was told the guy who owns this place happens to own one of my favorite British style pubs in Hamilton, if so, I may have to rethink going back to the pub in Hamilton now.

Nothing is worth the upset stomach I had from eating that mess!

  • Order: Stuffed Yorkie with chicken and asparagus, side garden salad with ranch on the side, glass of water.

  • I have been an occasional regular for years. But I never realized they serve pizza till a friend told me this week. So I stopped in, had a few beers at the bar, and ordered a pizza to go. They have four varieties on the menu or build your own. I chose to build my own - and when I got home - wow - probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had and at a reasonable price. Try it.

  • We love the atmosphere at this place!!!! The food is good. But I don't think I have had worse service on a consistant basis. The servers are rude, mean and just don't care. I will spend my money else where.

  • Order: combo platter, burger, pitcher of beer

  • I'm often guilty of associating various restaurants with a couple dishes they serve and when I go there, I always order the same thing.

With the Simcoe Arms it's their wings. My search for perfection of the perfect wing stops here. Extra large, double dusted, crispy, moist, tender, saucy and piping hot served with the traditional blue cheese dip and celery & carrots.

Served with a cold beer in really nice surroundings by friendly staff in good time. (Special pricing on Tuesdays).

    Nicely done!!

  • Order: Wings and beer.

  • We only had the wings this time out, but I've frequented the Simcoe Arms before for other dishes as well. My consensus still stands....

Food - Not bad... but nothing to write home about. Portions sizes are HUGE... almost too big! The prices are reasonable for what you are getting.

Service - This is where this place needs some work. Their waitresses! They are slow, non-friendly/cold and don't care at all about the people coming to eat at this restaurant/pub.

Overall - This place needs a lot of work. I would definitely go back more to this place if the service was improved.

  • Order: Wings, Iced Tea, Beer.

  • Alright, so it's a pub a few days after Xmas, so it's not going to be very good to begin with. Even considering this, the food was pretty awful. My chicken sandwich came with this... glommy... sluice stuff that they passed as some kind of special spicy sauce. It was repulsive, and looked rather curdled. On top of all that, the bun was stale -- I guess they figured I wouldn't notice as it had been toasted a bit.

The other dishes at our table were passable, but not much more than that.

Anyway, just plain bad. We'd been a few times before over the years and it was never any better than "ok", so I think this was the last.

  • Order: Spicy chicken breast sandwich, lasagna, burger, respectively. If I recall, we all had coffee.
