Captain John's Fish & Chips

From the moment I walked in, the owner made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her. She was very rude and not at all helpful. I read the review before going and still wasn't prepared for her poor attitude. The fish was mediocre and almost undercooked.

I will definitely not return, but will tell others of my experience. The pricing is outrageous for the quality and portion of the fish.

I've NEVER met such a rude woman that treats customers and staff so poorly. I've Never had such a terrible experience when going out to pay for service and food from a place, to say the least I left with out paying and with out food.

Come here with my son and father once in awhile. The owner is always very pleasent and accomodating. The fish is always very fresh, and very good. The chicken there is also very good as well. Try the deep fried mushrooms too...very enjoyable place.

Out of towners first time there, was impressed with large portion - 4 pieces of fish and huge helping of chips, they were busy service a little slow but ok........only one complaint - too much dressing on the ceasar salad and nothing to serve it with. Will definately go again. A lot better pricing than othr fish n chip places in Sarnia its about time someone gave the Wharf a run for there money!

Broasted Chicken! It's the best I've ever had!! I could never descibe in words just how good this chicken is. Try it once and you'll never buy broasted chicken anywhere else. It is just sooooooooooo tasty!

Fish was the best i have ever had in my life, never was much of a fish eat'er until after our family desided to try out cj's. We are all most weekly dinners now.

The food was well obove average for Sarnia restaurants but I was informed that the prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year and portions have dropped considerably. The owner might be well advised to not price her food into mediocrity or get the portions back where people are again impressed with the generous value.

Fish and chips are a standard menu item...especially at a place that is excusively a fish n chips place. One would therefore expect the quality of the product to be at least above average. First of all, the fries are disgusting, and the fish has a ton of greasy batter...and when ordering take-out, it ends up cold (on more than one occasion). The service is nice, but if you want to enjoy what goes in your mouth, spend a few extra bucks and go somewhere else.

AMAZING!

This is pretty good food. It can be almost crazy walking into this place at certain times of the day and week which makes the waitress somewhat less friendly than when its not as busy. This lady is always taking our orders for take out and serving us when eating in the restaurant. She should hire more help for the busy times because although she is quick she has almost no patience at all.
