Great food. The curry crab and oyster are the best ever. The service is courteous and friendly for Asian restaurants. The decor and atmosphere has recently been updated.

I'm not sure why it's called "Saigon" being Vietnamese myself I can assure everyone this is NOT a vietnamese restaurant . We ordered 3 vietnamese dishes and it didn't even come close. Spring rolls and fish sauce was so way off, not even funny. Sure the service was fast but that's the only good thing about it. And I'm sure everyone like's to watched and stared at while they eat?!? The menu is in chinese & english, the servers & cook speak chinese, enough said...
- Order: spring rolls, grilled cod, curry chicken w/rice, pork chops w/rice

Although we had to wait ten minutes for our table, the food completely made us forget that we had to wait.
Our server wasnt anything special, however, his recommendations were to die for, of course he probably recommended the most expensive items. He was also very random, yet each dish complimented each other. We started off with the cury crab and lamb chops.... they may have served us an entree before our appetizer like a previous review, however, we couldnt tell, we were too busy savoring every bit. The bread was fresh out of the oven, even though we later found out it wasnt compliementary ($1.75).
Mr. Nuno is a complete foodie, we have eaten everywhere, and both come from families in the restaurant business... but I wouldnt say we are experts in the Richmond Hill/Markham area YET. But he couldnt stop raving about this place. He also believes in the idea that if you can get us to eat and like something we dont eat by making it good.. then we are talking talent. He and I both hate biting into little bits of ginger... but the pineapple rice was so good.. i was chewing ginger and liked it.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

We ordered and it took 30 mins before our first dish came out. They brought out an entree before they brought out our appetizer, which wasn't that big a deal, but the time delay made it worse.
We ordered 4 dishes. The chicken mango wasn't bad, and the Viet platter wasn't anything special (VIP in Markham is better). The curry was much too salty, and the bread was cold (not room temp, like out of the fridge) and not very crusty.
Our final order, a grilled pork chop, was incorrectly filled (we wanted a pork bun noodles). We said fine we'd keep it, but then they gave it away to another table. After another 20 mins they came back with a half raw grilled pork chop that looked like it had been boiled.
I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone as there are so many better viet/thai places in Richmond Hill and Markham that have better food and better prices. The one redeeming quality was the decor, however it was very noisy and the A/C wasn't on, so everyone was sitting around sweating.

The food was tasty. Decor is nice and modern. Lots of MSG though so be prepared to drink a lot of water. The head waiter (I think he's also the owner) will try to up sell you the Vancouver crab or the giant shrimps. As for cleanliness, I would rate it a 5 out of 10.
- Order: Many dishes
