Restauran Malay

I heard a lot about this restaurant and was glad that I finally dined here. The food is a great mix of Thai and Malay dishes, although a bit pricey, the portions definately made up for it. We had about 3 servers waiting on us, so it did get a bit confusing when we were taking orders, but they were very polite and really knew their stuff when it came to the food. We were worried that the dishes would be a bit too spicy, but it turned out to be fine. One pepper beside the dish on the menu really means mild; we barely felt the heat in our mouths. The inside of the restaurant was nicely done, but at times was a bit loud. Overall, this is a great restaurant to visit during lunch, that I might have to visit again for dinner.

we've been their twice, the roti was very tasty and set my expectations very high. I ordered noodles, but this was very colourful but low in taste. I also ordered the apetizer platter and was put off - there was a fish cake which was abit too fishy for my taste, it was an unknown fish, pureed and made into a ball. the other items were not very impressive either, and for the price not one of the apetizers made it worth it. its nice if one of the apetizer works out but all the variety was no good for me. Will come back and eat roti which is light and the curry that comes with it very tasty.

I have been frequenting this place for years now. They recently renovated their restaurant and it now looks more upscale.

That scared me at first as this usually means more cost and less taste. Not so - well, the prices went up a bit, but it's still worth every penny.

This place is as authentic as it gets. The food here is to die for. The only problem I encountered was about a red curry that just did not have the usuall Restauran quality - something wasn't right. I asked the waitress if she could try and she said that she was a vegetarian.

This kind of peed me off abit - no let me take it back to the chef, let me get you someone that is not a vegetarian... So I grabbed one of the waiters and asked him to try. He agreed that it was different and offered to exchange it for me. I should have pressed to see a manager at this point, but I didn't seeing as this is the only time that I was dissapointed.

Next time I go, it had better be back to the Restauran I know and love, at which point I will bring the service back up to 9 and the food to 10.
