Golden Hoy Restaurant

It has come to my attention that all prior reviews of this restaurant are fake. I went there for dinner with my girlfriend once last week, and while the food was savory the service and atmosphere was terrible. We were the only ones in the restaurant aside from two obnoxious drunks.

I noticed that BK Dungy wrote "The service is good and the order takers speak very good English. They are helpful and will describe the dish easily." This is a lie. Our "order taker" could hardly speak any english or desribe anything. She didn't understand the word crispy.

So despite the awful service, we decided we would try it again next week because the food was good, even if they probably do use MSG. So as we walked in there was NO ONE there to greet us. We stood there for a couple of minutes before nervously walking in a bit more. We stood around for about five minutes and still no one even knew we were there. The doors to the kitchen area were open and eventually we saw an adolescent boy spit some chicken bones into a garbage can. He saw us but didn't say anything. That's when we left.

We will certainly never return

This restaurant is an eat-in type but Golden Hoy is a really good place to get your take out. The menu is comprehensive with Szechuan (hot), Curry, Egg Foo Yong, Pork, Chicken and beef dishes (many). Although slightly higher priced than moderate, the food is excellent and the delivery in on time, all the time. The take out menu has coupons, Combination Plates and Special Family Dinners listed so there is enough choice for everyone.
Dinner for two in the Family Dinner offering is $15.50 and Dinner for 6 is $55.50.
The service is good and the order takers speak very good English. They are helpful and will describe the dish easily. There is no MSG as well. All I can say is Yummy!

We come here at least 3 times a week, our school is right beside Golden Hoy. Everytime is better than the last. I think it's safe to say they have the best chinese food in the city. The orders never get mixed up, Michael the waiter is friendly and knows our orders off by heart. The food is sensational and I could eat it 3 times a day, 7 days a week if I had enough money to. I will go on a 30 day Golden Hoy diet if someone gives me the money to. This is no joke, I serioulsy love this retaurant, and enjoy every minute of eating there. I would reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for good quality, tasty, inexpensive chinese cuisine.

the food is awesome and the guy is very friendly and great service and I got a cookie that told me to stay with my wife for ever and keep my promise to not go back to the army
