The Canalside has become our favourite restaurant in town.. whether it is for an amazing steak of theirs or coconut curry stir fry, their food is always flavourful and wonderful. When we have people in town to visit, that is the place we visit, from great dinner, to great music that we can still talk while they are playing, and the cocktail & wine list is extensive. And, they always know how to celebrate the holidays, with themed meals. We will be regular customers for many years to come.

My husband and I go to Canalside a few times a month and we are always happy with the food. Between the two of us we have eaten almost every selection on the menu and have never been disappointed. I often suggest it to others, the vegetarian options are great, there is something for everyone there. It is also a great place to go have a few drinks or some appetizers. We love to try different beer while there. The waitstaff are always pleasant and the owners are very friendly. I love Canalside.

My friends and I were in town at a stag and doe in the legion. Got tired of it so we went to Canal Side. The appetizers we ordered were cold and it took a long time to get a drink. Some guy playing a guitar and the 19 year olds, if they were 19, screaming and acting stupid is not the atmosphere we were looking for. Then 3 cops walked in to check IDS so we felt like there was going to be trouble so we left and went to a different bar. Not a place for a quiet drink. Won't go back.

We were on a day trip through Niagara during all that nice weather this week and drove into Port. We saw the sign Pub and Eatery, so we went in. Coming from Toronto we expected the place to be a pub. Far cry to what a pub is. Not only did it not look like a pub, it didn't have any pub food. We ate anyway, not too bad, but we had to send back the steak, overcooked, and the waitress was pretty slow. Maybe they should concentrate on what they are trying to be and serve what people expect to eat. Plus prices in a pub are alot cheaper than this place.
The people from Port Colborne might get fooled by this but we weren't. We probably won't go back. We like authentic pubs. - Order: Steaks and Pasta Dishes

We took friends from Toronto to a late dinner. Got the food, the 2 pastas were cold and we sent them back twice. Had to wait for cutlery and the pasta was cold again. We blew it off and thought we would stay and watch the entertainment and have some drinks but then a fight broke out and the kids face was on the floor. Horrible place, I was so embarrassed for taking them there.

The food was close to inedible that is why we ended up with snacks. We sent so many things back.
Great location but totally spoiled. My boyfriend and I went to "the Galley" further up West Street to really eat.
Sad really but we should really have eaten next door at the Windjammer. It would have been quicker ,cheaper and less stressful.
We will not be back.

Service and food were great. Surprising menu for a restaurant with 'pub' in the name. The food was more gourmet than average pub grub.

The place was very busy at the time and I told them that I only had 30 min for lunch. The owner recommended the special and said that time would not be a problem. 10 min later the food arrived and about 5 min later he had the bill at my table so that I would not have to rush. The expedreince was great and I had plenty of time to eat.

Very pleasantly suprised. It is a pub and the food was outstanding with quite a variety of options. They had a great selection of beer over 60 different kinds. A cocktail list and martini's. The place was busy with a great atmosphere. The service was outstanding. It was also great to see the owner working the restaurant and taking the time to speak with every table. I will be back.
