Absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be returning here. Based on the reviews on restarantica, I stopped here for lunch while in Peterborough today. The fresh salsa and guacamole were fantastic. And I'm not even that much of a fan of guacamole. The chicken quesadillas were great as well. Tried the mango juice on the recommendation of the server and was very pleased with it. Will definitely be returning here and taking others with me.

La Hacienda is one of my favorite retreats in Peterborough for an authentic mexican meal! I came by myself, and was promptly directed to the front window nook, and ate my great moyettes with a mango juice. It was a great lunch, and I recommend that place to all my friends. Although some might not expect the flavours authentic mexican typically offers, and thus might rate this restaurant poorly, I know what true Mexican tastes like and La Hacienda is it! You won't want to miss out on this restaurant in the summer when they pull out their patio...AMAZING...

The food tasted good. The size of the portions were respective of their prices. The presentation was wonderful. The freshness of the greens was good, but the rice and beans tasted a bit dry. The mango juice was refreshing. The atmosphere complimented the food and the music was great. We got a free side dish of chips and dip, but I didn't like the chips. The total came to $28 with what we ordered below.

Wow, just wow. We went for dinner recently - I had been there before a long time ago and I love Mexican and couldn't remember why I hadn't gone back. Now I know. First we get ignored in an empty restaurant for a while (there was one other table). Then, we spend 15 minutes deciding what we want (were taking our 10 year old out for a celebration and kids of course can be tough to order with). Finally we decided and started our order when the server informed us there were no beans. My wife doesn't eat meat, so of course this was a bit of a bummer since basically everything on the menu is either chicken, beef, or beans. So we spend a bit more time deciding and order something else. When my daughter's nachos arrived we remembered that they were supposed to have beans on them - so instead she just got cold chips with a little bit of cheese on them (and I do mean a little bit - maybe 1/5th of the chips had some cheese). This was, I think, $9 - for a plate of chips. The food was mediocre at best - we had eaten at Mexicala Rosa's recently because it was convenient and it was actually a fair bit better than the food here. That's sad. The server never returned to the table once nor could I get her attention for more water, so we just sort or rationed our water for the meal. She took forever bringing the bill so I went up to pay. She took my card without looking at me and sat there while someone else kept up their phone conversation (tying up the debit machine). After about 2 minutes - at which point I was completely dumbfounded - she glanced at me and rudely said "wait a minute". He finally finished his very important call and she rang me up - without ever looking at me. So, overall - horrible service, I think the worst I have ever had - mediocre food for $13 range - missing about 1/3 of the menu and offered no substitutions (so we just don't get our side dishes that we are paying for). I've worked in restaurants a lot so I'm pretty forgiving, but I have to say this was probably the single most frustrating dinner out I've had in a long time. I felt very frustrated laying out my $50 considering the way we were treated.

We visited La hacienda restaurant and although it was extreemly busy that day the atmosphere, service and food was amazing!!! The waitress was friendly and quick. The guacamole was the best we've ever had and the presentation of the dishes matches the amazing taste! The decorating inside is truely authentic and the music adds to the atmosphere which is comfortable and welcoming. The chefs even came out to greet the customers and made it a very light and friendly environment. Truely feels like mexico! Definatly going back

This place was a real gem to find. They have introduced a new brunch menu with many delicious dishes. I do recomend to give saturday brucnh a try. It is not as a busy during peak hours so the service is distinctly better.
Great Atmosphere!

Mixed feelings, read the great reviews and it was recommended by a friend so got there with great expectations. Place was nicely decorated. Service was very slow though the waitress was very friendly. The Sopa Azteca is not really Sopa Azteca, very nicely presented and not bad taste but more a chicken broth with tortillas than the real thing. Tacos al pastor were tasty but missed the chopped onion and then again not quite the real thing. The aguas frescas (fresh fruit-made water) were not really fresh but rather a concentrate or a commercial tamarind/guava juice. Might go back but I am still looking for a place with real Mexican food. The thing I was hoping to find: Mexican Breakfasts (Barbacoa, Divorced eggs, pozole, sweet bread, hot chocolate, tamales, enfrijoladas...hey wait, that might be the start of something here!)
- Order: Sopa Azteca, tacos al pastor, aguas frescas
