Jake's Neighbourhood Grill

My family and I have been to Jake's many times over the years, and its always been a great choice. However, they must be under new ownership because the menu is totally changed. My old standby used to be the amazing Signature Steak- 8 oz for $12.99. Its still on the menu but now its $19.99.
2 pieces of fish will cost an extra $5.00 opposed to one, and there are no prices on the drink menu, nor does it say whether refills are complimentary or not. The serving staff are- for the most part- very friendly, and make the meal enjoyable.

Must be the mood you are in, This is our second visit here and we wern't as impressed as the first time. My wife ordered crab cakes and they were on a few greens, being an appetiser you can't expect much but when the server knew it was her meal should have been more. My steak came with 6 or 8 sticks of asperagas however very good

Went here for dinner since it was something different in Peterborough and was VERY disappointed. Our waiter took forever to serve us, forgot to order 1/2 of our meal, when we mentioned it to him, he said he'd correct it - which he NEVER did. I had ordered a spicy chicken dish and was served a chicken breast smothered in, I swear, PC Memories of Thailand sweet chili pepper sauce (I purchase this one and swear it was the same as I buy in the store).
Steak was okay though overcooked.
Will definately not return and have told friends who wonder about going.

Our first experience at Jake's and enjoyed it. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Open a Jake's in Owen Sound. Will recommend you to friends coming this way.

I've been to Jake's twice so far, once with a friend from Toronto(who likes to go to a lot of restaurants) who had never had such a good steak dinner! Fantastic food, resonable prices, friendly staff. Will definately be back.

This probably has to be one of the best places I've ever eaten. From when I just walked in the door, I was greeted by smiling faces. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is outstanding and the staff are very attentive. Highly recomend.

The hotel told us about the steaks at Jake's. They weren't wrong. The rib eye was amazing and my buddy thought the NY was the best he ever had. The Keg can't touch it. Great service and Josee can speak French too. Next time in Peterborough, it's Jakes

We had been having a crummy stay in Peterborough -- Jake's made up for it. The food was great -- steak cooked perfectly and seasoned well, suggestions by the server taken and he was right, desserts a perfect size to finish the meal. We were very impressed by our server -- he was knowledgeable and friendly and funny. We were surprised that the restaurant was so empty at about 8:30 on Saturday night.

With the Logo Jakes means steaks I would have expected different cuts, menu only had sirloin & striploin. Steak was a little tough but very tasty. Chicken was good, Fries were great. Ordered gravy on the side which never came but she did remove from bill. This was our first time at Jakes and we found it clean, (carpets could use shampooing) nice atmosphere and good service
