This is a restaurant on the edge. They could do it right, but always seem to serve adequate food. On our way north (5 hr drive) it is the most convenient place to drop in for lunch. Good service, when there is no crowd. They need to crank the food up one notch, and it would be awesome.

Visited September 24. Husband ordered pickerel and it appeared to have been previously frozen and past the best before date. I ordered the Prime Rib and would say it wasn't really off a prime rib roast but sliced then cooked. The calamari appetizer had a flour like coating and they were warm, not hot.
The worst were the carpenter ants - we killed six and saw another climbing on another diner's back. It appears the floor could give way if the ants keep eating.
- Order: calamari, prime rib, pickeral

Pasta could best be described as glue and drowned in an overwhelming onion cream. The fish and chips were oversalted and looked like they had been fried twice. The 6$ Mac & cheese turned out to be basic Kraft Dinner and the limp fries were dipped in gravy from a powder mix. Considering that the entrees started at $16 and rapidly climbed, we were expecting at least edible fare. Skip this tourist rip off.

The food was terrible. There were four of us visiting and we each had a problem with our meals. I had portobella ravaoli, which was overcooked and bland, my dinner mates has a soggy club house sandwich, an over cooked burger, and an undercooked steak. I would have appreciated the dinner more if my initial contact wasn't to terrible. I called to ensure there was ample room for our party which we were told they were very busy and if we came right away we would get a table. When we arrived the deck had available seating, as did the inside. In fact the inside was empty. The only enjoyable thing about this meal was our server Lacey, She was polite and very helpful, I commend her for working under such conditions. I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone in the future.

My wife and I had lunch at the most picturesque little cafe we've seen. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was surprising. Everything exceeded expectations. We are both vegetarians and don't eat any dairy. Thankfully, the soup was not creme-based but was still thick and hearty and absolutely exploding with flavour.
After that, I thought the sandwich would be anticlimatic. I was wrong. I recall crunchy bread around a collection of veggies both tasty and moist. The view and atmosphere were perfect. It was the ideal spot for lunch. We just dropped off the kids at camp for one week and were looking forward to exploring the muskokas together. Amazing. A perfect lunch experiece. We'll be stopping by again. - Order: Roasted Red Pepper Soup Grilled Portabello Sandwich Tea, Lemonade.
