Pho Mi Bo Ga

3 strikes, and this restaurant is out!! I will never order take-out from this restaurant again. After having been a customer since the restaurant opens, it has gone down-hill in terms of quantity and quality. I had ordered a pho with beef and chicken and found out when I got home (I live about 1 hr away from this restaurant), there was only about 5 slices of beef in my soup and no chicken. I also ordered the vermicelli with pork and springroll and boy, talk about being cheap. There was hardly any pork in that dish.......however, I did receive a lot of the vermicelli, which cost pennies to them.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WILL DISCOURAGE EVERYONE THAT I KNOW NOT TO GO TO THIS PLACE. THERE ARE BETTER VIETNAMESE RESTAURANTS AROUND!!

great place if you are craving pho & in the south end....Its in a strip mall so and it feels like it they do a great pad thai

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Ottawa. We've been going here for almost 4 years now and it has always been excellent. I prefer their pad thai to that which you get from a Thai restaurant - it isn't too sweet or sticky. The portions are huge for the price and the service is good. The make-your-own-rice-roll platters are amazing and satisfy the pickiest eaters (ie: my husband). I can't say enough about Pho Mi Bo Ga, it is an amazing little restaurant.

We've been visiting this restaurant for a couple of years now and it used to be one of our favourite places to eat. That was when the owner was on premises, his wife was one of the waitresses, and his brother and co-owner was the main cook. The food was fantastic, and so was the service. Now the owners are rarely there and chaos often reigns. Tables are left dirty; our orders get lost and we have to remind the staff; there's a steady turn-over of staff; and worst of all - the food, while it's still pretty good (with the exception of the Pad Thai which is now below par), is no longer excellent. It's mainly remaining a popular spot because of it's previous reputation and our hope that things will improve. I suspect, though, that after starting out as one of the very best Vietnamese restaurants in Ottawa, they're happy just being mediocre, as long as the customers keep coming. The owners appear to be occupied elsewhere and when the boss is away . . .

Really good pho. They have great appetizers as well. I always enjoy the chicken skewers and fresh rolls. Their peanut sauce is the greatest!

I live close to the restaurant and I eat there frequently and pickup many orders there. I have been there at least 50 times in the past 2 years and they know my face and name. The pho is just fantastic and so is the other stuff on the menu. It really puts most of the other pho places in "chinatown" on Somerset to shame!

I love this place. I have been won over. I would dine at the vietnamese Palace on Somerset regularily but when I tasted the food here I thought that it was outstanding. along with the service and the cleaniness it was a perfect dining experience. I constantly direct people to eat here!!! Great job

This is hands down the best Pho restaurant in Ottawa if clean broth, fresh vegetables and nice trimmed meat is important to you! This is the healthiest pho you will ever taste. The only problem is the restaurant is always crowded due to good service..so plan ahead if you make a trip! Great Work.

This is hands down my favourite place to eat in Ottawa - the food is amazing, cheap and is prepared very quickly. I was brought there by friends and now I bring people there all the time! The rice paper roll up platter is fantastic, my favourite is the lemongrass beef. The vermicellis are huge and fantastic, soups are amazing too. Nothing here is bad - I love it!

I came in for Friday lunch, my was it packed. lucky i got one of the last seats. I use to come on Thursday nights, but the service is terrible.I ventured in one last time and noticed that it was different staff. Two girls, one Asian girl and a Spanish/ girl this time. The service was excellent. despite the overwhelming amount of people, the food was brought out as quickly as they could. It did take a bit of time, but both girls offered water and apologized, thanking us for our patience.this as small as a gesture, was pleasant. We often get this order,pad thai is great. i asked the girl, why i didn't I see them on thursday night. She stated that they both work Fridays and Wednesdays.And that she worked during the days. So people, for excellent service and good food by friendly and competent staff, go on Fridays. keep in mind this is a small place, i know they do their best.
