I've been here a few times for lunch when I decide to treat myself to a beer with lunch. the food is always very good, service great and atmosphere terrific. I took out of town friends for dinner and they were equally impressed with the Mayflower! Well done, keep up the good work. Gary

Sat on the patio, took our time eating all of wings, nachos, spinach dip, quesedilla, and chicken fingers. The service was very prompt and freindly, and the atmoshere was very welcoming. It was a Thursday evening, and fairly quiet which was nice. It could use some upgrades in signage, etc but ultimately it was very clean and a great environment to spend a couple hours at.

The place was packed when we arrived there, but they still greeted us right away. The breakfast was simple, exactly what I wanted and a good price. They were fairly prompt about refilling our drinks. The Mayflower is nice clean diner style restaurant during the day with a good breakfast menu. This was my second time and I will be back.

Watched game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on the outside patio. The staff was superb with prompt service even though it was really busy. The quesadilla I ordered was a bit on the dry side, but the beer selection is great and I will definitely be back.

Still one of the best joints in Ottawa to go to, either for food or drinks. You just have to stick to what their good at making - traditional pub food - and you can't go wrong. For once I tried three different things instead of my fave (fish and chips), and I found that my cute red-headed server extremely helpful in making suggestions. I was recommended the snapper, which was unbelievable. Well-priced, big portion, and I was told to pair it with a Creemore - which was a perfect compliment to my meal. I'll be going back very soon, and I'll recommend this place every time to my friends and family. Not sure why some people accuse the staff and management of being racist. I've never seen a more culturally diverse staff in the Elgin area who treat each other like their all family. Check it out yourself.

Excellent pubby pub in back; good local restaurant in front, very nice summer patio. Service is invariably excellent; you are neither hurried nor left waiting.
The food leans mostly towards standard pub fare; fries are reputed to be quite good, the fried zucchini are some of the best left in town. Portions and prices are reasonable.
Lunch and dinner are underwhelming, but breakfast is quite good -- large, well-priced, tasty.
Well recommended as a place to stop for a pint; friendly but not loud.

Terrible food, service, portion sizes and all around horrible experience. Don't bother going to this restaurant! Servers are mean and accusses honest people of not paying their tab when in fact they left it on the table and when they returned another time they were told to leave! Avoid this place...it's not worth going to and no one should be accussed and not served (this also could be race related but we can't jump to conculusions).

I've never been to the restaurant proper, only the pub side around the back. This tiny but charming pub caters primarilly to neighbourhood clientele but fills up quickly at lunchtime.
The Mayflower's food is very good but the portions are rather small and you can't help but feel that you aren't getting your money's worth.
This being said, the service is exceptional and is at a level far beyond that normally experienced in downtown pubs.
