While not the worst meal ever (I did not get food poisoning), it was not worth the price of admission.

I ordered the lunch special which gives you two items for $11.

I got shrimp tempura with rice and a spicy salmon roll.

The spicy salmon roll regularly goes for $8. I hope the lunch version is a cheap imitation of what they normally sell you because what I got was a sliver of salmon (I could barely taste the salmon at all), two layers of unseasoned normal white rice and a squirt of hot sauce put on top of the roll (there was no spicy sauce mixed with the salmon itself).

Absolutely lacking in taste.

The shrimp tempura was four tiny shrimp (I'm talking 31/35's) with a scoop of rice. Hard to mess up so the taste was fine.

Try New Generation Sushi across the street. Unless it gives you food poisoning, it can't be as bad... maybe equal, at worse.

I ordered a lunch special and a tempura udong (noodle). After waiting more than 30 minutes, I asked the waitress that I had to leave shortly because of my flight schedule. I waited another 5 minutes and walked over to the cook and asked him if my food was ready. He replied that it was ready. In fact he was about to start. Then he said without apology that I could leave if I wanted. And the worse, his attitude was so bad. I had to leave the place after wasting 35 minutes without lunch. Unless you have more than at least one hour for a quick lunch special, I suggest you think it over before visiting this place.

The decor is very basic and the restaurant is well lit and very clean. The staff and chef are all in front and are friendly and chat with new customers and regulars. Little details like wasabi peas for sale at the cash register, and metal chopsticks, make the restaurant stand out.

Best sushi I have ever had. The crunch roll was amazing. Sooo much freshly made food for such a reasonable price. I can't wait to go to Ottawa again to eat there!

I had ordered the Spicy Ramen for pickup. The order was finished in 20 minutes. One of the best soups/noodles I've ever had in my life.

Great little restaurant for lunch. We visit often. Service has been great lately compared to previous visits. Recommended to everyone. I always bring new friends to Jade and they are always delighted with the quality of food. Only the frestest ingredient. Compliments to the chef.
