I am from Brampton, Ontario which is right next to Woodbridge - one of the largest Italian populations in Canada. My best friends are mainly Italian. I am used to authentic Italian food.
The food at Fratelli in Westborough was excellent - almost as good as Woodbridge or Toronto. I am biased.
I actually felt like I was sitting at a restaurant in Toronto. There were families, couples, friends, small groups and large groups.
It is the best Italian restaurant in Ottawa. It is a REPEAT!

My family and I stopped in for lunch to the Westboro location. The server was fantastic, the food yummy and the atmosphere very comfortable. My children are 8 and 1 years old, and both were treated with respect and courtesy. The other staff was equally pleasant. We would stop in again.

We are talking about the New Fratelli Restaurant off Beechwood. We went with great expectations, our friends did the Interior Design of the Restaurant and that we would rate as a 10!!! Kudos Creative Friction.
The owners need to work on the food.
Firstly the recommended wine selection on the menu was unavailable, they were already out of it, also noted by fellow dinners, friends who dropped by to chat. The salad was doused in dressing, almost uneatable but we didn't want to complain....
Our alternate choice of wine the Barolo 2003 Fontenafredda was thin and never did open a disappointment at $60.00/bttle... we didn't complain....
But, my Veal marsala was like shoe leather and tasteless, only the pasta which I think was homemade was good. Goodness knows what the sauce was on the Veal.
My husband's Chicken gorganzola was tough and also not very good either.....
I did mention the Veal to the waitress who was very, very good and she immediately offered to substitute it with something else which at that point I didn't bother to do. The bill was adjusted accordingly.
Service and Decor are terrific.... go for a drink and look see but until they get their food act together this will not become our neighbourhood restaurant. We are hoping things will change in the future..... - Order: Mista Salad & Veal Marsala & Chicken Gorgonzola

I visited the Westboro location for a night out with friends. Not bad, overall. The food was pretty tasty, but it wasn't incredible. Food came relatively quickly, and the hostess was good at refilling our water glasses frequently. I did, however, feel pressured and rushed by our waitress, who didn't have the nicest attitude, and seemed to just want us out of there as fast as possible. That was the only major flaw though. I would still recommend this restaurant to others.

We visited the 'Westboro' location. The waitress was very snobby when we didn't order alcohol (it was lunchtime). After that the service was mediocre, the food was awful and the restaurant was pretty empty considering we heard how 'fantastic' it is supposed to be...

We were very excited to try the new beechwood location of Fratelli, living in Rockcliffe, a very residential area, there are few good restaurants nearby. We have dined at Fratelli Bank street for years and loved it-but i have to say i was extremely dissapointed with both the service and the meals at the Beechwood location. We had a reservation and arrived promptly, only to wait for 20 minutes as they had overbooked. We felt like they had forgotten us. When we were finally seated, it took forever to get our drinks (through the hostess), although the waitress was very nice, diligent, and helpful. The food was lackluster. I can honestly say I make better pasta. The veal marsala, excellent at the Bank street location, was dry, chewy, and the alfredo sauce was essentially flavourless. I will not return to the Beechwood location, and I'm having second thoughts about ever going back to the Bank street location. What a shame.

The food was great, especially the salmon I highly recommend this dish and would order it again. Only comment was that I had asked for no potatoes yet they appeared on my plate.

well i guess i can start off by saying the food was fantastic. however i felt as if the severs could have done their job a little better. the bussers and hostesses were on task and seemed to be doing most of the work, most likely for half the pay. my only problem was the poor service. other than that i will most likely be visiting the kanata location again.

Our third visit to the Kanata location. We were seated immediately, service was excellent. The meal was excellent, a very nice Australian red wine and nice dessert. Overall one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will certainly be returning again soon.
