The Thirsty Monk

This was our first visit at the new location (21 Celine St., around the corner). I was impressed. The place looks great. A nice upscale look for Oshawa.

Presentation of food was better than your average pub and menu choices were well rounded. Food was really well done. The fish and chips were definaly not store bought like I have been seeing in a lot of places lately. A nice tempura style batter. My compliment to the Chef.

Would have liked the waitress to have told me they had a better selection of wine than the two she offered me. I noticed them after I order one of the house reds. Ed's |Coors light draft was a little on the flat side, but he didn't complain.

Will be back!

Telephoned my order in for pick-up. As soon as I walked in the front door, 2 to 3 staff greeted me and made sure I was looked after. Very impressive. My order was actually waiting for me. I'll be dining in and ordering out, that's for sure !!!

I was just at the Thirsty Monk at their new location and it was beautiful. The food presentation even for a "simple" plate of bruschetta was amazing! They are definitely not your typical pub anymore, it makes you forget you are downtown Oshawa.

My wife and i go to the Thirsty Monk at least once a week. Every week we are greeted with smiling faces. The waitresses all treat us like family and always ask how we are. We just recently heard about the pubs expansion around the corner and with a patio, and we can hardly wait until we get to go and see it for ourselves!!! Always our best meal of the week!

We went to dinner as a family on our way from a movie. Quite sick and tired of fast food that we always seem to get. With boys the age of 16 and 13 we need big helpings and food that they will eat without being bored at a restaurant. We were fortunate to be there on a Saturday night when they had the Wii going. Not only was the food fantastic but because of the Wii we could take our time and have a conversation without being bugged to go home. On a side note the servings are so big that my 16 year old who is never full without two servings was full, we actually went home without him asking in an hour for something to eat.

I work downtown and at least once a week my colleagues and i go out for lunch. And every week we go to the Thirsty Monk. We call in have our order pre-ordered and as soon as we sit there our meal is brought out to us. We pre-order becasue we only have a 1/2 hour for lunch and we are always back to work on time. This place has everything we want from salads to pasta to burgers and the most amazing pizzas!!!

my lunch experience was great. we were greeted with friendly faces were offered incredible specials and then recieved a lunch card which I've already used a few times. We are all regulars now!!

Always a great time at The Thirsty Monk! The food always tastes great and the waitresses are always fun and energetic! Keep up the great work!

We consider ourselves "Wing Connoisseur's" and we were so surprised that The Thirsty Monk was not the winner of the annual wing challenge.....We give them top marks and if you are looking for a relaxed cozy environment, this is the best kept secret.

My family and i went before the Petes game expecting to wait for our meals because the pub was so busy. But because of the EXPRESS MENU we only had to wait 15 mins, we were in and out in a half hour and had plenty of time to spare before the games started!
