The Bulldog Pub

The food has good flavor and is great for pub food. If you go here you are not fine dining, hence the name Bulldog PUB. If you are having some beers and want to eat, then the place is great. The food is fattening yet filling. So they have accomplished their goal for a pub. I would recommend the food. I worked their for a short time and the kitchen manager Randy is really good. He runs the place and oversees the ship is tight. He and his efforts are golden. If they lose him, look out.

The bar staff is amazing, genuine, good people, who make you feel at home and can carry a conversation. I recommend going on a night, Don, Ashley, Andrea or Rich are bartending. First class, genuine people.

The servers are average but the bartenders are first class and make you feel at home.

The pub has 2 owners. One (Brian) who also bartends, will put you in stitches with his humour, wit and sarcasm. The other, Sheila, I found very impersonable and unlikable. And in my opinion, treats her employees poorly.

"There's a pub there?"

Little did I know such a gem was just around the corner. After the rave reviews here, I dropped in to try out the reportedly legendary wings --- and the reports were true!

Big, meaty wings prepared to perfection with zingy sauces certainly made for a nice lunch on a chilly Saturday afternoon.

The hot sauce was your standard hot wing sauce, which tasted great and had a nice bite, but the wings were so good, I couldn't stop there... I had to order a second round, this time with the Smokey BBQ sauce - and that's what is was, a bold, mildly spiced sauce with an addictive smokey flavour.

Thankfully, the service was as good as the food, which sealed the deal as to my recommendation.

I'll definitely be back to try out some of the pub fare, but I would recommend dropping in, even if just for the wings.

Wings were good Unfortunately they only focused on spice and not flavor for their suicide wings they are the first wings I've have ever said hey these are kind of spicy but no other flavor Overall the food and service was good and i will go back

Really the best wings in Durham. Been there before and will certainly go again. Great ambiance and friendly staff.

We went for wings on a Tuesday wing night. We've gone before and have told friends about them.

We were told they had "no" wings. Honestly they are good and we hadn't been for a while so were disapointed that they were out,, but we are adults and settled for alternatives. We ate as we were starving but then mentioned to our waitress the food was unsatisfactory. Tough ribs,, strange club house with beef and chicken, no bacon. Got cold very fast.

She brought two more beer as compensation. We appreciated it but she hadn't asked us. Just assumed that would make up for the disapointing meal. She also mentioned the cook that night was very good at making wings but not as talented with other things on the menu.

We cut our losses...and tried to consume the second large draft beer and then overheard her telling a neighboring table that she had 20 wings left and did they want them? We looked around and another table had them too. Another waitress explained that some regular customers (ie ball players etc) reserve every Tuesday and they were saved for them. I wasn't impressed nor was my husband. We felt our waitress was not honest with us and it wasn't very professional to pick and choose the customers who were more worthy. Its a nice casual place but they do seem to cater to the regulars. Little do they know we "were" weekly regular customers but will have to contemplate returning in the future.

the bulldog pub is a great pub to go for all ages..in the winter you have a fireplace with nice comfy chairs to relax and have a drink..the wings by the way r awesome..lots of event nights for all ages..the service is quick and always pleasant keep up the good work brian and shiela your doing an amazing job.
