I've been here three times, the food is decent but the staff (especially behind the bar) treat you like they are doing you a favour by having them serve you. For this reason I won't go back.
- Order: nachos, beer

Agreed. I used to love the place and be a regular until the bartender developed a serious attitude problem. The guy is a real tool. Now I won't go back which is too bad because I loved the nachos.

The Niblick used to have a great atmosphere and I used to visit alot but they put in way too many video screens.
Seriously why do you need like 15 TVs hanging from the ceiling, 2 TVs behind the bar and a huge screen in a small Scottish pub.
The screens make the place offensively bright and unpleasant to sit in especially the 2 overly bright advertisement screens right in the middle of the bar that just loop the same 4 cheesy ads.
The place looks like the TV department at Sears

Have been a happy occasional patron of the Niblick for a couple years. Have had lunches, dinners and drinks there. Have to say the food quality is excellent for the price and the menu features authentic UK dishes. The wings are big and the Niblick nachos are hands down the best I have had and are huge and can be shared by 4 people. Its no wonder the place is busy every time I have been there. Lively, fun atmosphere, clean washrooms and attentive staff make the place a real pleasure to visit. Family friendly.

People who know it don't need to read this. People who don't know it also don't need to read this. This bar's packed enough already without other people crowding it. This is a very wonderful neighbourhood bar with friendly Anglo-Saxon patronage. My friends and I come for their weekly Tuesday trivia contest and we love it. It's our meeting place: a way to make our relationships relevant after school is over and we move on with our lives. But I digress. This is restaurantica, you're here to read about this establishment and decide whether or not you should come here and have a good time. Believe me, you won't be disappointed.
Food: great bar food! great nachos! These nachos barely justify their $16.99 asking price. It's just that good. not only is this sombrero of nachos smothered with cheese, chicken, sirloin steak, tomatoes, green onions. It comes with a bowl of nacho cheese in the centre just because you fear that something as monstrous as this would be lacking in calories. I am a little disappointed that it has gotten smaller from the previous menu. However, it's still great considering what it is. There's also an off-the-menu ordering of side fries.
Service: great overall, but it can be noisy at times. This is one thing that suffers from being too popular. The bar is loud. This is especially true during trivia since not everyone plays and people love to talk. Orders still get through. The waitresses are very courteous even during this maelstrom of food, beer, people and noise.
Amenities: It's a pub. Your dimly lit room, standard booths, TVs, woodden chairs. I don't have much of a demand on this category. It feels like an old English den which was probably the intended feel of the pub. The place could stand to reupholster the chairs. However, it's not an alarming issue. Clean overall.
I'll be back, my friends will be back. We will continue to play the trivia contest until they take it away. Please don't take it away from us.
- Order: Kronenbourgs, nachos

I truthfully didn't think anyone would read this; let alone comment on it.
In my defense, whenever I went, the population was very homogeneous. It's Oakville.

Food, service, drinks, location all very good, BUT the live music is truly deafening. If you are anticipating talking to the people you came with, or anyone else, go somewhere else. When the band starts playing, people head for the door, or the patio. The bands themselves are okay and the music is usually familiar, but no one is dancing, no one is listening, we are just screaming at each other, WHY ARE THEY TORTURING US WITH THIS NOISE?

Don't go here for a birthday with a large group. Not if you expect to be served alcohol for any length of time anyway. We were enjoying a nice evening with a large group and were told after a couple of hours that we had exceeded some magic amount for our bill. The server was good about and explained that they had been shut down a some point for serving someone in a DUI infraction... Understandable but none of us were driving and we made that quite clear. It is a good pub with great grub but don't choose this venue to party and have more than 4 drinks each.

I've been to The Niblick more times than I can remember and I've been going here for about 5 years. It's a usual gathering place for a group of friends and we've ordered many items off of the menu, all were either good or really really good. The servers have changed over the years but we somehow end up with one that remembers our order and doesn't mind our tongue-in-cheek humour from time to time. The menu could be a bit more authentic but that's finding a fault where there really isn't one. The Niblick is my first choice for a pub anytime I need one. If you like things hot, ask the server for the "home-made" hot sauce, be careful, this stuff is by far the hottest I've ever had!

It's the staff that makes this place great. The regulars are as colorful as the pubmaster, Jim.
I have NEVER had a bad meal. Recommend the Niblick Natchos, Pepper Steak Boxtie, (ask for less pepper if you have a delicate palate) and the Bowtie Pasta is smokey and cooked to perfection. The Fish'n'chips are always great. Burgers are to die for, and most importantly, the beer's cold and served correctly.
