Great food and atmosphere! The place is so clean. Anytime there were lineups was because everyone came in at noon. Try coming in at 2 pm as I did. I came in yesterday with a bunch of friends to have wraps and pasta. The pasta was delicious and had an authentic Italian taste. I've been to Italy many times and I know good pasta. This was great. The sandwiches and wraps were huge and tasty. The dark haired girl behind the counter was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. It's a place with lots of warmth and vibe. Love it and will definitely come back. I'll come back for the take home pasta entrees; the prices on the pasta are so cheap compared to even places like Loblaws. And I was told that the pasta was all handmade. Try finding those prices for pasta in Oakville. I really like what the new owners did to renovate the place and fix it up. The place looks great, and the staff are super friendly!

I work downtown oakville and anytime i dont have a lunch I go to Colborne. I have been many times in the last year. They have new management now and my co workers and I have been very disapointed in the last few months...but today really pissed me off! I got a turkey wrap which i get all the time!!! First of all, the girl who served me had no idea what she was doing....she asked ME what goes on the wrap and I had to tell her. Second, my wrap was half the size it normally is, if that. Third - it wasn't wrapped properly and everything was coming out. They usually make it right in front of u and if that was the case today then I would of told her it didn't look right but she took it to the side and I didn't see her make it. I am not one to complain which is why i didn't go back or even bother to call but I had to vent!!! Colborne is already over priced..but I go anyways because the food is so good and usually my wraps are huge. Lately they have gotten worse and worse, what I got today was completely unacceptable. Wouldn't recommend going there anymore.

Cheerful service but painfully slow; food quite expensive considering very small portion size. Poor value. Soup was 7 dollars and served in a cup...and not a very big cup.

Ever since the new ownershp took over, the quality of presentation at Colborne St Cafe has gone downhill. None of the staff knows how to make a proper wrap, the filling is falling out to the point where I have to use a fork to eat the filling. Because the serving staff is so slow, the wait is longer, long lineups to get lunch, and yet their prices have gone up, despite the decline in service & presentation. I'm never going back.

One of the very few sandwich places that has gluten free bread AND will happily make sure that ingredients, utensils, etc. will not be cross-contaminated. When we were there, it was 3 guys working behind the counter and they were wonderful. I have celiac disease (autoimmune condition; can't eat anything with wheat or other gluten-containing grains) and require a gluten free diet. I saw gluten free bread on the menu but when I saw the sandwich prep area I didn't think I could eat safely there, but they went out of their way to not only make sure I did not get a crumb of wheat bread, but also to make me feel that it was no problem at all to help me. The one guy told me not to let anyone else who worked there tell me it was too much trouble to clean knives, get out fresh ingredients, etc. The fact that the sandwich was very tasty was really just icing on the cake (and the fact that they gave me 2 sandwiches for the price of one because the gluten free bread is so tiny!). I will definitely go back. My husband's sandwich, on regular bread, was apparently also delicious.

Great lunch experience. The lady behind the counter was a great laugh, which added to the experience. The food was terrific as well. I'll eat there again the next time Im in Oakville.

Charming atmosphere - I remember when this location was a comic book store, and the transformation is amazing. It seems small from the front but really opens up in the back - very light, bright and cheerful. They may not have any comfy chairs, but this isn't a chain, and I like its personal character overall much more than a Second Cup or Starbucks. The coffee is fresh (enough for me, and I worked at Starbucks 1.5 years), and the cake is always great. The icing could be a little more cream cheesy and less icing-y, but both the carrot and banana are delicious none-the-less. Going back again this Sunday!
- Order: I'm actually a "regular" of sorts - this is my favourite place to have a coffee with my mother on Sundays. As such, we generally only order coffee (in mugs, about $1.50) and a slice of either the banana or carrot cake - both are delicious and only about $2.75 for what is usually a spectacularly generous slice.

The food at the Colborne is cafeteria at its best. With so many other places to lunch in downtown Oakville I would not return for cold-cuts and iceberg lettuce. The prices are average for Oakville, the food is not.
