A complete dive bar! Old tired decor,dark and dingy.
The girl behind the bar hardly noticed us as,she was explictly recounting deed's from the night before on her cellphone! She made it seem like a major effort to pour a couple of beer's.Sorry we sat down and ordered food! BIG mistake!Fish was overcooked and the fries were greasy and cold.Level that dump!!P.s- Washrooms were filthy

I've always enjoyed the Coach & Four, food, service, atmosphere, but OH that carpet by the back entrance - it's disgusting.

It is a Pub, a place to relax and enjoy the company you are with and the atmosphere. I cannot believe some of the negative reviews The Coach has received. I agree that yes, sometimes the service can be a little slow at times...when it is packed and that can happen 7 nights a week. I have to wonder then, how can it be so bad?? I have been there several times and for the most part have received good service. The staff are very friendly and do what they can for you even when they are very busy. I have been warned by the servers that food is taking longer than usual to come out of the kitchen and therefore I expect to wait...or I have the option to leave. I have never left. I do not go out to dinner with friends and or family to a pub and expect to be in and out in 30 minutes. If I did, I would go to that fast food place with the giant yellow M. Sheesh, it is a pub, a place where I see many regulars there on any given night. So relax, enjoy the company you are with. If you have only been there once, and have had a bad experiance, I suggest you might want to try it again..you just never know.
Yes sometimes the food comes out and it is not piping hot and other times it is. SO WHAT! I look around and there is not an empty seat to be found..I guess the staff are really busy serving those that are grateful and those that sadly are not. Do not blame your server for cold food, she is not cooking it, only bringing it to you when it becomes available to her. Sheesh.
One more thing, Im going to take a stab in the dark here and say that most of the bad reviews come from ppl who have NEVER worked in the industry before...but I could be wrong.

Can't really understand how there are so many negative reviews for the coach on this website, unless they're coming from neighbouring restaurants or something.

The coach has excellent food, my wife and i with many different parties eat there at least a few times a month and will even just go there for a quick pint on occasions as well. The staff are all really friendly, and it can get really busy in there at times so sometimes service might be a little slow but its never rediculous like other bronte area restaurants.

The breakfast menu is terriffic also. Many times we've gone for walks on weekends and then gone for breakfast, In fact we first found out about that service when some locals suggested it.

The daily specials definateyl are worth looking at, especially their curries. Other favorites of ours are the steak in giant yorkshire and the spicy chicken wrap which they do.

Definately recommend this place its a great atmosphere fileld mosly with local people. Thursdays tend to be really busy at night with Karaoke going on also.... nice.

We have been several times but recently the standard of the food has deteriorated. We will not be going again.

I order perogies and they were delicious, the best I've had in a long time. The service was good and we only had to call the waitress over once for a drink refill. I will definetly go there again.

I have never had a problem with the Coach. The food is good, solid pub food, and the prices are a good match for the portions and quality. The waiters are all great and very friendly. This is a bar that has a loyal set of regulars, and they will be the first to tell you that they'd come back. Nothing to disappoint here, and better than your average pub.

Service was virtually non existent. One had to literally fight to get an order placed. Our two orders were served to an adjacent table of 4 where they sat for perhaps 10 minutes as they were being casually munched on and breathed on by the occupants. Unbelievably, the plates were retrieved by the server, taken back to the kitchen and within a minutes served back to us minus all the munchings. And you have to pay for this!!!!

I don't know why we keep torturing ourselves going back to the Coach and Four, but it's really hit and miss as far as the service is concerned. The food is pretty good, but the last 3 or 4 times we have been there the service has been disastrous. This last time we were there, we got there at 1:00pm, the place was packed. We seated ourselves and then waited 15 minutes before a waitress came over to us. In fact, my husband got up to get our menus himself. Finally, our drink orders arrived 25 minutes after we got there, so we figured we better order our food quick to make sure it came in a reasonable amount of time. So we placed our food orders. 2 salads and a sandwich. This waitress was a very disorganized person. We got to know that from the amount of time we waited for our food. Finally at 2:00pm the food arrived. My husband complained that his lamb sandwich was freezing cold and so was the gravy that went along with it. The waitress offered to take it back to "warm it up", but he was so unimpressed with the service so far that he was concerned he wouldn't see it for another 15 minutes, so he said no thank you, he just wanted her to know that the food was coming out slow and that his was cold. She left the table then came back to say that the food order was only put in "20 minutes before it came to the table" and that that was "a reasonable amount of time". I had to disagree, because she took our order but then cleared tables, picked up tabs, got drink orders for new tables, etc. before she even ENTERED our order into the system. A good 10 minutes passed between her taking our order and putting into the system. This was a Thursday, every table was full, and they only had TWO waitresses working the whole restaurant. The waitress was not rude in any way, just extremely inefficient. This is not the first time this has happened. Let's just say that the exact same poor service occurred once when I had my children with me, they had to wait an hour for their food and were whining that they were hungry, we were told the food would be out soon, etc., then one of my 6 year old sons went to the bathroom and put too much toilet paper in the toilet and the waitress came over in front of everyone screaming at me to send my son back into the washroom to clean up his mess and basically told me that if I had better control of my children this would not have happened. I had 4 kids there, all under the age of 6, who had to wait an hour for food in a restaurant. Yes, they were cranky, they were bored, they were HUNGRY. Normally with that many kids, we are in and out of a restaurant within an hour!! Anyway, THAT waitress was extremely rude, I never should have returned after that, but go there sometimes with a girlfriend or my husband WITHOUT kids, and still the service is horrifying. Not just to OUR table, but to everyone there!! They never have enough staff working.
