Not a fan of korean food but this place is pretty inexpensive and the food is not that bad. I like their meat dishes as well as the soups.

Joon's Special is the Dak Gal Bee which is what we ordered. As my partner and I talked, the waitress prepared our food in front of us in less than fifteen minutes! The basic Joon Special comes with only spicy chicken and veggies. Extra add-ons include rice cakes, sweet potato, and mozzarella cheese (a must get!). We got all the add-ons including noodles.
Home cooking at it's finest without all the prep time and clean up. Everything worked really well together!
Complimentary side dishes were given and are always refillable. we were offered mashed potatoes (yum!), kimichi, bean sprouts, and broccoli.
a must try! - Order: Dak Gal Bee w/ rice cakes, sweet potatoes and noodles

Went here on a weekday night ordered the dish everyone orders from here the chicken with korean hot paste, napa cabbage and rice cakes
I thought food was going to be great, but as the server brings us the food and slides it into our frying pan i realize there is no lid to cover the sauce which was very watery. The splashes of red sauce had gotten everywhere on the table. Aside from that the server came to our table about 10 minutes later and told us we can eat everything in the pan except for the chicken... I being a cook thought to myself is this guy serious.. i told my table not to eat anything until it looked remotely cooked.. the server came back 2-3 times re assuring us that we could eat everything except the chicken after a long battle with hunger we ate and all got food poisoning :) Also for the price i though it was a rip off paying almost 25 dollars for bites of chicken and napa cabbage????
i dont know how this place is getting good reviews or is still alive

This is my favorite restaurant in the city. I first went there about a year ago. Very friendly service and great food. This is not one of those restaurants that makes you feel like an outsider. I am a black male and I became friends with the owners.
Do not hesitate to visit.

A diamond in the rough...thats the only way to describe it. I was visiting the busy area of yonge and finch with one of my good friends who decided we would check out the local fare in her neighbourhood. Although there was a good mix between middle eastern and korean restaurants(never ending line-up of restaurants), I let her decide as she was the expert (being Korean and a food critic).
Once we decided on Korean cuisine, without a thought she knew exactly where to take me. There it was hubbed between a row of uber-modern rows and barely unoticeable compared to the more flashier restaurants close to it. Anyways, as we walked in we greeted politely and seated right away(the waitress didn't speak English but luckily my friend was able to translate). The resturant is of modest means however it is bright and clean. Once seated we were immediaely handed the menu and given water to drink while we glanced at the picture book list of specialities. Within minutes of ordering the young waitress brought over a table-top burner, some ingredients and a large wok. The very neat thing to anyone used to western restaurants is that the food was cooked right at our table by our server instead of being served already cooked. As we talked, the waitress prepared our food and in less than ten minutes our meal was ready. Fast, fresh and delicious! - I will definitely bring my family to try this restaurant the next time I'm in this part of town. - Order: Ordered traditional Korean dish with shredded cabbage, veggie and seafood.
