The Capri Restaurant & Tavern

Great food and service, we have been going there for years its too bad they have closed down, Niagara has lost the best Italian restaurant in the city, where are we going to go now Almacs or My cousin Vinneys. lol

Wasn't expecting much when the family and I visited Capri (BF and I found the place online - exterior screamed 70's), but boy were we blown away! The food and service was EXCELLENT...so good that we ate here twice (1st night we all had homemade lasagna, the 2nd chicken parmesan). Portion sizes are huge, so you can really skip the bread/butter at the beginning. One of the nights, we saved room for Tiramisu - it was incredible! Everyone needs to experience Capri!

My GF and I visited Niagra falls last weekend and had the wonderfull experience to eat at the Capri Restaurant. The outside of the restaurant wasn't much to look at and the dinning rooms were open and airy with a mixture of paintings and copper etchings. Overall nice and clean but not overly done to make you feel a need to show up in top hats and tails. The service was very personable and I found the wait staff very attentive to our needs. The food on the other hand was exquisite. We were so impressed with our meal that we felt a need to return to Capri's the following night to sample another cullinary delight. We were not disappointed. My only regret was not purchassing a bottle of thier red sauce to take home and enjoy. The portions were very healthy and very Italian. You will NOT go home hungry from this place. I will not hesitate to recomend this restaurant to anyone, even an italian gradmother will want the recipe to their sauce.

Not much to look at from the outside but what great the food esp the homemade pasta.

well the revidws were too praising. The food was OK...nothing special. In fact,the texture of both, the veal and chicken was tough

the best was the sauce.

As someone said before, the bread was cold. That is so easy to correct..and would have made for a nice presentation

We chose the Capri for a birthday dinner for our grandmother's 90th. It's a very authentic Italian restaurant. The food was very good. I recommend the eggplant parmesan. The kid's meals were large and well priced. The service was very friendly. They let us bring in our own birthday cake which afforded a significant savings. The music was quiet (what a rare blessing these days) and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would definately recommend it.

We selected this restaurant based on the reviews here but were not as delighted as our fellow reviewers. While two of us enjoyed our dinners the thrid in our party ordered the chicken pastina and it was inedible.

The bread was served cold. The first two entrees came out a full 5 minutes before the third - meaning two of us had to eat cold food. Not as important but an indication of the state of the restaurant; there was food on the floor and the menus were dirty.

Authenticty and price - Yes!
Service and Presentation - lacking.

All the food was really excellent the lamb done just right, a large portion . The house wine both red and white was excellent. We go to Niagara falls for my wifes birthday and will be back.

Authentic Italian Eatery with excellent service, great food you can;t beat the price!!!

We held our wedding reception at the capri and it could have not gone any better. The owner was so great, she let us decorate the tables to make things "our own" and helped us order a beautiful cake.
The 2 ladies that served us could not have been any better, the service was much quicker then we could have expected(we have 49 guest including the wedding party) After the dinner I was asking arround to make sure everyone enjoyed the meal and I personaly did not hear a single complaint. All in all I can truly say the service and the quality of the food made our wedding the more special for ourselves and the guests.
