John's Restaurant

We have been coming here for our whole lives. The food is good, and home cooked. The prices are great and the portions more than feed an average sized person! There is a reason why I have been coming here with my family for over 22 yrs and will continue to do so as long as they are open. I have eaten in some of the most amazing restaurnts and even so I still come back to this one. Even though their decore may not be up to date it does not reflect the amazing food and service. This is a great place to go for a warm family get together with homemade food. It takes you back to remember what is important in life, family, friends and good food with good service and to remember that fancy things and decore don't matter if you have what is important with you!

We were staying at the large waterpark around the corner. Just happen to stumble onto this place (it was a trucker's instinct---Thank's Kathy!!!!).

I'll do two reviews at once (we had dinner there and returned for lunch the next day).

For the dinner, we were a group of 9 (4 adults, 2 teens and 3 littler guys). Lunch consisted of 3 adults 2 early teens and 4 kiddies

We had a variety of food and desserts (see below), nothing came out of a box or freezer. It was all made from scratch. It may not of been the best I've ever tasted, but it has the nice "homemade, made by mom" touch. Not much of the food here is what I consider "industrial" or "pre-fab". The only thing I saw that was, was the chicken nuggets and tarter sauce.

Also, can't complain about the portions. I can eat my fair share, but this place will definately satisfy.

Dinner: Schnizel, fish and chips, club sandwich, Spaghetti, cabbage rolls (I think), lemon merainge pie, blueberry custard pie, cherry custard pie, ice cream.

Lunch: fish and chips, stuffed pork rolls (there was a funky name for it)--but it was good.

busy restaurant during the evening. food was good. service was ok but the place was pretty busy so it was a little bit understandable. good prices. will return

the perogies were actually good for the rest of the expierience. there was crap smeared on the toilet in the washroom, when i notified the waitress she laughed and shrugged, then she coughed on another tables food as she was bringing it to them... absoulutley disgusting. after all that we asked for our bill 3 times and never got it. i can only imagine what else goes on

Very good meal, great service and the pies are great.
For very good food at a very reasonable price.
