  • After reading all the previous comments, I need not say much more. Have they not fired the rude wait staff yet???? That would be a start as ours would have been better working where she did not have to deal with the public and the food would have been better if it was to have been served to wild animals (or just plain garbage tossed) Stay away!!! Read the warnings!!!

  • I am not a restaurant critic, but after spending the gas from Torornto to Niagara and back, I must respond to this tourist trap atrocity called Happy Wanderer - Fine German Food.
    - few cars in the parking lot during high season - that should have been a warning!
    - disco music (Funky Town) playing from outdoor speakers
    - staff smoking in the parking lot
    - went to front doors, waited several minutes to be seated, waitress left for a good 5 mins.; as she was on her cell-phone behind the bar; we tried to get her attention, but she just turned her back on us; then she went into the kitchen;
    - 5 mins. later she came back out and asked if we wanted menus (we should have said no, that what we really wanted were tickets to a Cirque de Soliel show in Vegas);
    - soon after ordering, lo & behold...food for 2 arrived . . .
    -Weiner schnitzels seemed ok, but we think it was pork; asked for spaetzel but got instant mashed pototoes with NOT being asked for a replacement first.

    - other meals arrived about 10 mins. later; saurbraten was tough or old and the red cabbage was straight from a can with its juice. The veal stew SMELLED and tasted as good as the OLD DOG CHOW, much like the new dog chow (with apologies to Purina Corporation.)
    - we were never asked for water or drinks during this ORDEAL
    - do not you pleople in Niagara have a HOSPITALITY SCHOOL

    To all others, stay home in good ole Teranna and save your Hryvnias, Shekels, ad Kopeks!

  • As a service representative in the propane business in southern Ontario for over 15 years, this was one of the worst dining experiences ever.

    Nice exterior, but:
    1. Waited to be seated, no diners present, nor waitress for over 5 mins.;
    2. When she came, said to sit by the bar (cramped), did not give us menus nor asked us for drinks;
    3. Ten mins. later, asked if we wanted waters, then left;
    4. Five mins. later, asked if we wanted menus; no water
    5. She came right back for our orders; made it simple for her and ordered wiener schnitzel and rouladen with mashed potatoes and so-called vegetables of the day;
    6. Another 20 mins she came with the food; no water yet, no bread, no salad; asked her if we could have some Pepsi; came back with 2 colas, no ice and warm;
    7. Schnitzel was pork, not veal, rouladen cold and raw inside, instant mashed potatoes, canned veggies;
    8. Rude service , place was dusty, played loud rap music;
    9. Paid exact cash and left with no tip - waitress was not around anyway;
    10. Better places next door including all-you-can-eat at the casinos, Dennys and Hooters - and cheaper; better yet, turn this tourist trap into a parking lot.

  • Will NEVER be back. Food was ok. Waitress rolled her eyes and sighed and looked at us like we had just landed from outer space at every one of our requests. Not hard ones either...asked if they had cabbage soup...roll of the eyes and a big sigh (made us feel like we were nuts) Asked for double potatoes (obviously instant) instead of vegetables ...another roll of the eyes (and then "FORGOT" to bring them)- asked for seperate bills....and yes another sigh and roll of the eyes. Not once did she come to see how our meal was...infact I had to get up to get us more water. by the end we were so dissgusted that we decided that a tip was NOT in order....WELL....she came to the table as we were leaving and reminded us with a very harsh tone to leave a tip and stood there waiting ......we did not leave one and she stomped off....Gratuity-a gift of money for a job well done.....NOT HERE AND NOT HER

  • It was unfortunate to have gone to this restaurant again. Had been there approximately 10 years ago and the food was great. Now, food is not so good.
    Never would this restaurant be recommended to anyone!

  • Over priced is an understatement. $6.50 for a milk shake- that’s right, a glass of milk blended with ice-cream is $6.50 (Canadian). I was with my family who had already eaten, so we went in just for a meal for myself and snacks for the rest of the family. The first waitress we got was offended that not everyone was ordering a meal so she rudely walked away from us while I was still talking to her. The next waitress, a pleasant Hungarian woman was very nice and a good waitress (thus upping the service score) but it was hard to get over the first waitress. I ordered a roast beef stuffed with sausage, onions and pickle with the "gourmet sauce" which was nothing but plain old gravy. Not very much flavor and the roast beef was tough. I still gave the second waitress a good tip (about 20% of the total)- it wasn’t her fault.

  • All four of us found the restaurant quite a nice experience. The service was great and we all enjoyed what each of us chose to eat. Everything was very tasty. Will look forward to going again in the near future. Will recommend restaurant to friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for the German experience of the restaurant decor. Joan S. • My husband and I were there for our Anniversary. He had seen this place a million times and because I love Germany so much that's where he took me. I found the interior of the restaurant charming, authentic and just like being at a Stuben in Munich. (the back 2 dining areas are gorgeous) The food was great and our waitress was hysterical. We had a lovely 20 minute chat just before we left. Was it perfect? No, but I think some people are WAY to picky. We are returning with a group of friends in May. The draft beer was delicious and just as good as any we had in Germany.

  • Save your hard-earned Hryvnia, Kopeks, and Shekels or any other currency. There is a Dennys just down the street with free parking. At least you know what you get!!!

  • Order: My party of four at the restaurant at 5:30 p.m.; waited for over 5 min for table; and what a table we got! Near the bar and in the middle of the aisle; not cleaned from previous diners; all the other tables were empty & immaculately set. 15 mins more go by before we get menus. We asked for water. Waitress came with the menus and asked us if we still wanted waters. She got the water from the bar sink and no ice. I ordered Weiner Schnitel, but got breaded pork, freezer burnt green beans, and 2 scoops cold, lumpy mashed potatoes. No gravy! My wife had burnt rolanden with a large, cold pickel in the middle. Soggy, cold green beans, instant mash potatoes & too much nutmeg. Our guests from Thuringen, both ordered some sort of creamy veal stew with Spatzle. It was also well overcooked and burnt. To be honest, it looked like wet DOG CHOW.
