  • I just went to the cafe a few weeks ago and was dying for a starbucks coffee. I asked around about if there was one around and someone told me they served starbucks at the Shaw Cafe. So I checked it out, it was gorgeous on the outside and quaint and stylish on the inside. As soon as i walked in there was a lovely display of some amazing desserts that looked fantastic. Anyway, i had to catch a show so i ordered take out. There was a girl there very happy to take my order, and very pretty too. She was really nice and bubbly and fun and we even shared a few jokes. Her name was Alex? or something like that, very sweet. The rest of the staff seemed very happy as well and it was a very comfortable atmosphere!!

  • Order: take out vanilla soy latte, toblerone cheesecake

  • We visited yesterday - Sept 14th - Tourists from Okanagan with family who live in Toronto. (party of four) The lunch never ever arrived! After several inquiries we were told there was a "malfunction of printer"! No apologies, not any effort to make things right. Service was abysmal. Even water had to be requested several times. Beer ok but over-rpriced. WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! What a waste of time!

  • Order: Beer, flight, appys & lunch dishes. -only beer came & water!

  • after trying numerous places on the NOTL main strip, this place ended up being the nicest in terms of environment. it was unique, the service was upbeat, and the food was fresh. i was informed the menu is all home made, including the hummus, which is top notch. the prices are the same as anything comparable in the town, and for the setting, well worth it. Ask for a seat on the second level patio - the only second story patio in town.

  • Order: river cobbler, sangria, wine flight, cheese platter, hummus

  • The food was clearly all home made and not just "pre-fab" meals. The club was delicious, with an onion marmalade and chive mayo, on a fresh crusty bun. Unique and interesting, in a pleasant way. Milkshake was one of the best I have ever had.

Service was friendly. Just what you would expect from the setting. Not too much, just right. Casual, yet warm. The restaurant setting was the most relaxed and enjoyable on the Main Street. A great place to sit with good company and just relax and take in the beauty of NOTL.

  • Order: Club Sandiwich, Strawberry Milkshake

  • The food was brutal for the price. A burger meal is 18 bucks and it is just a normal burger meal, nothing special. I would enjoy a bigmac instead. The fish was nothing special either and the service is very very very bad. Trust me, if you read this review, please do not go here, because this restaurant is a rip-off for the price and the service is practically not available, you will truly regret it if you go here for a meal.

  • Arrived in Niagra on the lake wandered around this beautiful quaint little town before looking for a place to eat. Unfortunately i found this place. Not only is it outrageously over priced the food is TERRIBLE at best. Since when has passing of frozen lasagna as your own been acceptable. Its only pasta, cheese, tomato sauce and ground beef. Its not that hard to make. On the website the "chef " worked in Europe, i'm sure his mentors there would be real proud!!! Cheese plate is misleading as it would indicate some sort of variety, dont make this mistake, it was more like a few slices of cracker barrel and a sliver of brie. Unfortunately I visited other restaurants in the town and they all seem to be at this level of competance. Spend the extra 2hours in the car and eat in toronto! Even with gas prices your wallet and taste buds are still better off.

  • The food was fantastic along with the service. The Ham and Brie was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I highly recommend it.

  • Going to Shaw after tourist season is the way to go. And in the weeks leading up to Christmas, the seasonal decor adds a classy, festive touch. The waitress even allowed us to switch tables when a quaint fireside table opened up.

Although pricey, the burger was the best I've had in a while. It had a unique taste, and was grilled to perfection. The soup was very good.

Be sure to ask to be seated upstairs, especially in the late fall or before Christmas.

If you go, try it after Labour Day.

  • Order: I ordered the burger and fries. My wife had soup and bread.

  • the food, mediocre at best, i mean G. B. Shaw was a vegetarian, having a burger named after him is an outrage. But i had the hummus anyway, which obviously had no tahini in it as advertised, it was heavy with spice which made it unpleasant to eat. The ham and brie was old and stale tasting, and the have was a horrible quality, rubbery and torn. The potato bacon soup was a watery mess that was oversalted and under heated, it was terrible, the salad was warm soggy and limp and the cheese plate had little variety and of the cheeses that were present they were simple and uninspiring.

the service was quite poor, the waiter smelled of cigarettes and was unfriendly.

  • Order: shaw burger, mixed green salad, tahini hummus plate, ham and brie sandwich, potato bacon soup, cheese plate
