We recently moved to town and we were hoping this would be our everyday place we could drop in and have a quick meal. It is not too quick. Service is friendly but slow and the food is adequate at best.
- Always a great choice!

This is by far the best place for service. Anyone can cook eggs, but my husband & I continue to go to the Red Rooster for the great service. Everyone from the waitress to the bus person is always cheerful & ready to get you anything! Sorry to hear about the E. coli problem, but that won't stop me from returning.

This restaurant/one of its suppliers has the unfortunate luck of possibly having an alleged/unknown link to E. coli as reported in local media, although there are some people recently afflicted who have no link to the restaurant. I have re-visited this restaurant post Labour Day (now that the more costly tourist season is over) and enjoyed it again. I would not want this incident to tarnish people's impressions overall. The owners have shut down the restaurant voluntarily on a temporary basis which bodes well. I will visit it again when the matter clears up. It is a good restaurant during the winter and shoulder seasons, value for dollar. As for the hours, they are poor. The owners don't need to be there non stop. If "Unknown" reviewer (Oct 27/08) used to work at the restaurant, hopefully they had better personal skills in the restaurant than exhibited in their commentary.

I just wanted to comment on some of the reviews I have been reading about the Little Red Rooster. (1) The restaurant is not closed entirely on Mondays. They are open from 7:30 am to 3 pm on Mondays and that is only during the winter hours, in the summer they are open all day on Mondays. You must realize that the owners work in the restaurant 7 days a week from open to close, it is nice for them to get ONE evening off. (2) They don't close at 7 pm, they close at 8 pm and only do so because the town basically shuts down at that time, especially in the winter. It is not worth it for them to stay open any longer than that for 1 or 2 tables. And (3) the "extra charge" for the fries is not actually "extra". If you paid attention to the prices you would notice that the sandwiches on the lunch menu are cheaper because they come on their own since most people have smaller appetites at this time and don't want pay for extra food they won't eat (I don't know about you but that seems like a nice thing to do to me). The sandwiches on the dinner menu are a bit more because one side of your choice is included. Now, I am not expecting that everybody that comes into the restaurant will love it, I just wish people would get their facts straight! Although I must say that I can't see why you wouldn't love this restaurant with it's inviting atmosphere, friendly staff and owners and amazing food for a great price but I guess some people were just born to complain.
- Order: I order here all the time as I used to work in the restaurant.

Love the food, the price for the quality of food was great. Slices of roast turkey not processed meat for the sandwich and the Mandarin salad was fresh and large. The staff was good and friendly. We have been on several occasions and have had no bad service or food. We look forward to eating here instead of the high priced places in town.

You have to be kidding me with this food. Took the family out for July 4th holiday. Food was cold, burger tasted like it was shipped from "someway" with no taste. I can do alot better from my own kitchen, thank you. all for the price of $39.00 never again. thumbs down. Was sick for 2 days!

I liked this restaurant generally but for its limited hours. However on my last visit, the restaurant decided to charge two dollars for fries if you were ordering a hamburger. Previously this was included. I am told it is the high cost of gasoline, yet fish and chips are still one price. I recommend trying Alfredo's down the road five minutes in Virgil for more reasonable food that is quite tasty. Fast service and better hours. I will check back at the Rooster when summer is over - hopefully prices will have changed - not paying for everything that other restaurants include.

Order liver with onions and mashed potatos for lunch and it was delicious. The prices are reasonable and the food is as good as homecooked. The restaurant has a nice and cozy, european atmosphere...will definetly visit again.

I like this restaurant and many locals do also. It is generally reasonable for Niagara On The Lake. I will point out that a two dollar surcharge for white meat on the turkey sandwich is too much. I have ordered the Spartan burger before and it is tasty. I would recommend it. One serious problem with this restaurant are the hours of operation! It is closed entirely on Mondays. During "high tourist season" they close at 7 pm when people are only beginning to start thinking about eating. It's nuts. I have seen people turned away. Otherwise, the restaurant is good.
- Order: Spartan Burger (comes with optional chef salad); coffee
