  • NOTL is a mixed bag, full of meals where the property values seem to drive the prices more than talent in the kitchen. Epicurean will not blow you away, but it's pretty damned good. The cheeses and preserve are good, though maybe some more variety of taste? And only water biscuits? Variety is good. The meats well well done, good quality. The frites were ordinary, but then I didn't go for the frites! Service was fine, and she warmed as the evening progressed.

  • The food was great I will be going back next time i'm there. One thing that I saw that I did not like very much and that was that the salade guy was hungry because he kept eating the food. Open concept windows next time go behind the wall or wait for a break.

  • Great spot for dinner on a nice summer night.

From the outside it looks small and unassuming, but don't let that fool you, it's bigger than you think once you get inside... Walk in via the side entrance and you will discover a charming patio. We absolutely loved the garden setting and atmosphere of the outdoor patio... we were seated right by the flower garden - it was really lovely. The food was great and so was the service, we'll definitely be back.

  • Caesar salad was tasty (if a little heavy on the anchovies), scattered throughout were these tasty little pancetta lardons. Lovely opener.

Had a nice beer with the salad, and a syrah with my jerk pork. The jerk porkchop came with a pineapple-scallion chutney (incredible, perfectly balanced) and a lemon brocolli puree (never tried anything like it). Be forewarned, the polenta fries need salt.

The bison was delicious, the fresh field mushrooms brought out the woody deep flavors of the meat. Slightly expensive for what you get.

Ambiance was romantic, some of the couples tables are RIGHT beside one another, which was a little weird for an otherwise very intimate setting. Service was pleasant and accomodating.

  • Order: cesar salad, jerk pork, bison steak, beer, wine

  • We are from Virginia and referred by some of our Canadian friends. They love the place and, now, so do we. We are looking forward to a return trip soon. Loved the outdoor patio - it is a little removed from the street. Food was great!

  • We all enjoyed the unique flavors and combinations. My only grievance is that my eggplant sandwich seriously soggied up my pumpernickle bread...messy to eat. The outdoor patio was separate from the main street which made it quiet and private. Exceptional ambiance. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Above all, the prices are refreshingly low for Niagara-On-The-Lake where tourists and locals are habitually gouged. I was entertaining friends from Toronto and the Epicurean made me look like a great host. THANK YOU!!! I would definitely return.

  • Order: Curried chicken with cashew sandwiches, eggplant with goat cheese sandwiches, seafood salad sandwich, tomato-basil mushrooms, salads, red wine

  • Beautiful quiet patio at rear, odd floorplan from the street to get you there, though. Keep walking to the Deli counter/buffet style arrangement, nice staff running it. Very good food, excellent beer.
