Bistro Six One

Dinner before theatre; went in because it seemed busier than the restaurant next door (so we thought it would be better). Looks like a basic family restaurant being transitioned in to a bistro style. Food (pizzas) were very good-fresh, hot and tasty. Not the most exotic thin crust but very good. Service was very good to excellent; 3 servers seemed to be managing the room very well. Wine was reasonable.

We ate here on Monday 5th October, it was quiet when we entered at 5.30pm but got busy later on, around 6.30pm. We had a good waiter, who was attentive and friendly. My friend and I were meeting another couple whom we hadn't seen for a while and we wanted to chat as well as eat and the atmosphere was very good for that reason, background music which was low enough to talk over and loud enough when we had finished talking !!
The food we orderd arrived in a timely manner and was well prepared and presented. The portion sizes, although not huge, were ideal and we all agreed it was good value for money. I would imagine, in the busy summer season or weekends, it would be advisable to book ahead of time.
The menu is available from their website, and although there is quite a few pizza's and pasta dishes, there are enough others to choose from.
We would visit again and recommend it to others.

Nice fixed price lunch for $20.00. Upscale choices. Good food quality and presentation. Lovely place for the ladies to lunch. My friends and I have shared several fun times at the Bistro.

We happened upon this restaurant wondering why it was so busy and once we received our meals we could understand. We had the best thin crust pizza ever!! The escargot was to die for and the calamari was awesome. Definately a find in Niagara on the Lake.

I can't say much about the food because we never got around to ordering. We entered the resturant and waited by the door to 15 mins until someone finally came to seat us. Then we waited for 45 minutes and although several waitresses walked by not one person stopped to even take our drink order. At this point we got up and walked out. So if you don't mine waiting an hour to give your order then try this place.

I had the mussels I wasn't sure if they were not fresh or not spiced well (not enough garlic), but they didn't taste quite right and and I had a *very* unpleasant evening afterwards. I heard someone in the party behind us complain to the server that they found a hair in their food. I'm not a fussy diner and I wanted to love this place since it was so charming and the server was very good, but I'm not quite sure I'd return.

Excellent food with a French flair. Nice variety on the menu with something for everyone. Would definitely return.

Everything was delicious. Our waitress, Helen, was very good and we had a great meal. It was our first visit.

The food was just above average, but our waitress was great and a lot of fun!! (Helen)
