I love Mamma Mia, it's probably one of the best restaurants that Newmarket/Aurora has to offer at the moment. if you want to get away from the regular chain restaurants, defiently try them. My boyfriend and I go there all the time and the new locations is even better. Both of us are from Italian backgrounds and we love the food. It tastes great and is presented wonderfully. The service is great and the wine is decently priced unlike many other restaurants. we always leave satisfied.

We came in to see the newly renovated location(formerly Al.Gonquin's) on Wed. April 8th and wow, what an amazing transformation! I would recommend that the main dining area be made a bit more cozy: it feels really wide open, especially when there aren't a lot of diners. I am certain the ambiance and decor will evolve over time. The bar area looked gorgeous! We ordered Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Piccata, with grilled calamari as an appetizer. The first chicken was ok, but the Piccata was amazing! So juicy and tasty! Our service was friendly and enthusiastic.

I'm just adding my two cents in here after seeing a few bad reviews. I have been here about a dozen times now and have always had a good experience.
The people having bad times with the service must have run into a server on a really bad day. I have always found the service to be on point. Once or twice it might have taken to long to take our plates but not offensively long...S!@T happens for lack of better words.
As for the food, me and my ex GF(who is Italian) visited this place multiple times and loved everything we had. I'm a sucker for ordering mussels and loved the ones from Mamma Mia's so much that I order them everytime! After a few visits, we decided to bring some of the family there for a birthday dinner. Her father, aunt and uncle who were all born and raised in Italy thought the food was prepared correctly and each of them finished there meals with enthusiasm.
- Order: We've had just about everything on the menu except for the veal.
- Great Pasta

We eat here regularly. The food has been excellent on all but one occasion (too much raw garlic – which they rectified satisfactorily). I have never seen any evidence of bread recycling (thankfully) – the bread is almost always cut at the bread station, while we watch. It’s fresh & nice with the oil & balsamic. The pasta is always cooked perfectly, and the sauces are very well done. We always sit in the section of our favorite waitress (Yvonne) who is very good; we have had less satisfying service from others. The only complaint would be that the martinis come in Jr. size. On the upside, the tiramisu is just bloody fantastic! The best I’ve had.

We had a reservation for 7 P.M. We arrived at 6:55 with one couple arriving just in front of us. There were only two tables free, both near the entrance, one a table for 4 with a reservation sign on it and beside it a table for two. The couple was taken to the table for four and seated. The reservation sign was removed. When we stated we had a reservation for 4, we were told it would be a ten minute wait. Clearly, our table had been given away and the four of us couldn't be seated at the table for two.
Once seated, the service was friendly and the food, excellent. - Order: Caesar salad, a variety of pasta dishes, and wine.

I enjoyed my meal, it was tasty, but not the best meal I have ever had in my life. The salmon was great though from the little bit I had (It was my gf meal)
Nice waitress, but I thought that she could have been better. Maybe a bit quicker, but she did have a lot of tables to do.

Been here numerous times, food is consistently good, find the menu dishes better than specials. Atmosphere is cozy, prices are very good, quality is high, service is comfortable.

I'm Italian and I'm also in the Industry, and the food was a disgrace, risotto was under cooked, veal was over cooked, the place looks like an Italian garage sale, and service... I could get better service in a gas station bathroom. Management was arrogant.

I thought this restaurant was fantastic, and I am Italian. I recommend the goat cheese, Five Cheese Agnelotti and Fusilli Alla Vodka and grouper, although everything we ordered was great. Everyone was friendly there, including the bartender and the main host. I have no complaints and the people that are complaining are ridiculous. This is a great restaurant with an amazing atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in a small restaurant in Europe. I was very impressed and cannot wait to return.
