The food has been getting better and the price is good. However, I've noticed that once you pay your bill (cash only), they will not bring you back any change. I've experienced this twice, and both times the difference in the total amount of cash paid and the total on the bill would have become very high tips. They don't even ask if you want any change back. I don't like the fact that they will assume you wouldn't ask for change so that they will pocket the change for themselves as tips. And when I recently asked for change, the waiter said very loudly and rudely to another waiter that I paid this much and the bill was that much, and that I wanted change. This was an attempt to embarrass me. Who does that???
The point is to bring some change with you so you won't have to overpay in tips and have to either: 1) let it go, or 2) get the change back and face embarrassment.

We've been regulars there for years. Dim sum very good and cheap = excellent value for money. Good variety, especially Saturdays. Wait staff friendly, little turnover, treat steady customer like old friends. Prices drop after 1:30 pm. Wait about 30 mins to get seated Friday afternoon.

Dim sum wasn't very good. Fresh, but not very tasty. Mind you, we normally drive all the way out to Scarborough to Dragon Dynasty (Sheppard/Brimley) which is by far the best dim sum around.
Emerald dim sum is much better, but still mid-range and much more expensive. The good thing about this place is it is dirt cheap - 11 dishes for $29 including tax.

I have been going to this place since I can remember. It is not located at the best spot, but has built a reputation for its cheap and delicious dim sum!
Usually I go on weekends where the food is usually served on a cart that is being pushed around and you get to decide whether or not you will be daring enough to try that "interesting" looking item.
The best thing about Tremendous I believe, is their egg tarts that are made with a flaky pastry, fresh and piping hot! Sometimes I can't wait till for dessert and order them halfway through my meal...because they do go fast!
The service is good, with many waiters/waitresses to get whatever you need without any frustrations.
Best part is, if you go after 1:30pm on weekends, the dim sum gets ultra cheap and thats when most people arrive! What can be better than cheap food? :)
- Order: Fried Squid Tenticles, Deep Fried Shrimp Wonton with Salad Dressing sauce, Steamed chicken feet, Eggtarts, Beef Cheung Fun, Shrimp Cheung Fun...etc

I loveTremendous! The food in my opinion, is fantastic. However,it is a required taste so if you're into that fake North-American chinese food then you probably won't enjoy it. However, if you like real chinese food or you're an an adventurous eater, you'll like this place.

I've been coming here for over 10 years. The prices are great and the Dim Sum is always fresh and really good. I've tried many other places for Dim Sum and this is still the best. I only go for lunch it's always busy, especially on the weekends. Never bee there late at night.
Cheers

It was 8:30 pm and we had been moving all day. A few co-workers consistently rave about this place so we decided to give it a try.
My first impression was not good, the waiter spit on the floor while leading us to our table. The dishes were dirty, the tea was cold and the staff were rude.
When the waiter brought the food out he threw the plates on to the table. The wonton, although plentiful, was flavourless. The same goes for the fried rice. The chow mein was soggy and had multiple short hairs in it. Needless to say, we didn't eat it.
This is by far the worst chinese food in Canada!!

I've been at Tremendous quite a few times, but I will never eat there again. The last time I went, I was seated infront of the bar and got a very good view of their practice. The bartender received the used water glasses after their customers leave. This man poured out the remaining water (somewhere) and simply refilled them on the counter for the next table. I couldn't believe it when I saw it because he saw me watching him and still tried to be sly about it. If they do that out in the open, imagine what happens in the kitchen.
