Momiji Japanese Restaurant

The servers never look around to see if any customers needed them, especially if you were in a booth. Food from the kitchen was slow and tasted bad; tempuras have to much breading and they didn't use panko to make the breading. The teriyaki, they just pour teriyaki sauce on top of the meat. The beef didn't taste like beef, must be a bad cut.

The raw fish wasn't fresh and desserts were limited to one order per person. We ordered one order of fruit and were give one segment of an orange.

They have much less selections then other Japanese buffets in Scarbourgh and Richmond Hill areas.

When the quality and taste of the food is bad; the restaurants try to skim customers off, it becomes very expensive because cusotmers are paying much more of what is worth.

I recently been to this restaurant with two friends. Usually sushi places that are all you can eat are not that good in terms of quality and selection.

At Momiji Japanese Restaurant it is very different as the sushi is really good, and there are many dishes to chose from.

I had a lunch there and I would love to go there again for a dinner. The difference between them is the fact that during the dinner sashimi is included too.

Visited this place on several occasions for lunch. From my experience I can tell that there are many positive things about the restaurant.

First, there is very large selection of Japanese food: wide variety of maki, Nigiri and hand rolls, great appetizers, and good entrees. Plus deserts are included in the price of the AYCE lunch/dinner.

Second, they have a very good service: Always refill the tea, the ordering procedure is very convenient and the staff is friendly.

Third, the place itself is very nice and the washrooms are very clean.

It is the best sushi place in Mississauga (I tried quite a few...), and I would visit it again.

I must say it is by far the best sushi place I have been to. The quality of the food is amazing, and the service is very fast.

I must add that I have been in many other Sushi places, and in Momiji the quality of the sushi is like in a very expensive sushi restaurant, while they offer AYCE.

I like this place!

After a couple of recommendations from friends, I decided to try this place out.

The last time I visited it, it was a strange time - I arrived there just before 3pm. (Apparently their prices change from lunch, $16.95 --> $22.95 for dinner.) My bf & I didn't really mind being charged for the dinner since the price is more or less comparable to eating at a non-AYCE sushi place.

Anyway, we went ahead and ordered. The waitress came back and said that if we ordered the sashimi/donburi then we'd be charged for the dinner price.

I told her we'd have the lunch price, since there was so much selection! And I had no regrets. If you want to try this place out, but don't want to shell out ~$26 for dinner, I'd recommend visiting for lunch/dinner on a weekday - Monday-Thursday for a better value.

Everything was prepared upon ordering, so it's very fresh.

DON'T be too gung-ho though be over-ordering the first time 'round 'cause some dishes are quite filling, re: 6-piece sushi, sushi w/ cheese, spicy sushi, & handrolls. Pace yourself. ;)

Best hidden secret in Mississauga-in a strip mall. Was recommended by a friend to check it out. A very large menu of items everything from Korean to Japanese. Unless you're an avid sushi eater- but more Japanese, some of the items are a mystery until you ask the waitress. For the amount you pay $21 +tax + tip you get a lot. Sushi is very fresh, and fast- I usually go for dinner, if you're with a large group, reservations are a must.

I've been back to this restaurant many times, and it takes a bit of experience in their system to really know what you are ordering.

I got the impression that the wait staff was not bringing everything that was ordered, and a waitress had even brought a dish to the table that we had not even ordered.

Besides taking advantage of the ignorance of sushi restaurant rookies, the wait staff are efficient and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious and I tend to eat greedily every time I visit. Especially well-made unagi and spicy tuna rolls, my compliments to the chef!

For Japanophiles like me the high quality and authenticity of this place is extremely attractive. Service is very fast, under 4 minutes, and kind. Ambiance and comfort is extremely warm.

Although the service was a bit slow, the staff was very pleasant. The fish was really fresh and tasty. We're going again next week!
