So it looks like I am the only person to not recommend this place. Here's the real deal: this isn't even authentic Mexican (it's Tex Mex) and so if you miss ChiChi's and don't mind Taco Bell now and again, then perhaps you'll think it;s pretty good. But, if you have either been to Mexico or know what real Mexican is then maybe you will agree that pasty refired beans, jalapeno poppers and enchiladas and burritos smothered in marble cheese is not that appealing - it's actually kind of gross.
To make matters worse, the service was awful. The waiter was totally inept and left all the salsa, beans, guac, chip bowls, glassware, etc. sitting on the table the entire time.
We were one of three tables - what does that tell you? - Order: tacos, enchiladas
- To my knowledge, this is 1 of 2 Mexican...

To my knowledge, this is 1 of 2 Mexican restaurants in Mississauga. (The other one being Cantina Mexicana in Streetsville.) Mexican Post is an American-chain.
I've been here twice and this second time was much more enjoyable! The first time my waiter was whispering and when I asked him why, he said he was sick. Not something you want to hear from waitstaff!
I visited again on a Wednesday and there was a Mariachi band visiting table-to-table. I thought this was a nice touch! The decor is festive, very colourful. A great escape from the cold!
I ordered something that I've never had before, the entomatadas, which tasted like enchiladas. The sides, rice & refried beans tasted very fresh. Usually, I don't touch refried beans, but these were actually tasty.
The waitstaff and some of the patrons even looked Mexican. And I always take note of this when eating at ethnic restaurants. For example, I get nervous when I see a lot of White people at a Chinese restaurant.
Anyway, the meal was very tasty. The prices are very reasonable, unlike many Mexican places. My friend ordered the 'classic' margarita, I had some sips, & it was soo good - had a coconut flavour to it!
I would definitely go back! I also hope that more people would discover this gem so that it stays open.
We need more of these restaurants in the 'burbs!

We arrived earlier on a Saturday Evening (6pm)
Service very attentive and the waitress was very honest when asking about menu items. She even told us not to order one thing as it was not good.
Portion sizes were good. I was stuffed after the appetizer.
Food was very tastey and its hard for us to get good Mexican Food as we live in a backwater Southwestern Ontario town (where they think Kelsey's is fine dining).
Will definetly be back now that there is Salsa Dancing on Saturday Nights. - Order: Mango Margueritas, Appetizers, Enchiladas & Burritos

Went to the Mexican Post as part of a going away lunch. We had a big group, about 12 people. They handled the big group pretty well but nothing special. The complimentary tortilla chips and dip were quite good. The Chile Con Queso was nice with the chips. The Fajitas were ok, nothing great. And unless you really really love onions I would recommend you order without. Ok value overall, won't seek to go there again but won't object to it if suggested by others.
- Order: Chicken Fajitas for One, San Pellegrino, Chile Con Queso
