We took our parents there for their 60th Wedding Anniversary. My Father is a very picky eater and it is very hard to get him to go anywhere. There was such a selection in everything from meats, fish, vegetables, noodles, desserts, salads, etc. The food tasted great! This by far has the Mandarin beat hands down. As well as those other places that we like to call 'cheap chinese' - well lets just say you get what you pay for. Our experience at the Imperial Buffet was a great one. I am coming back tomorrow to bring my aunt for brunch for her birthday. Thank you Imperial. :o)

Roast beef is of low grade and not kept warm. Sushi does not have any fresh fish. Who ever heard of a thin slice of smoked salmon as a substitute in sushi?

It was my first time to visit this location in Mississuaga, limited select items, taste terrible, when I talked to the manager, never give you the right answer, may be they don't really care of the customers, only thing impress me is the dessert, anyway it's also my last time to visit.

We always go to the Imperial Buffet for special occasions. Crab every night. Can't get that at the Mandarin. It is the best buffet restaurant in Mississauga, worth the drive from Etobicoke.

My father used to owned a small buffet restaurant in US. We had moved to canada recently and so I had went out to try the buffet restaurants in toronto. So far, mandarin and imperial buffet are the only 2 that had met our expectation and I thought maybe I should gave out my opinion about the experienceI had in both restaurant but I had came across one of the comment by FoodCritic on 06/29/08 and was suprised by her writting. It was really rude for the waiter and manager to treat FoodCritic lthe way they did but my main concern is the misunderstanding that FoodCritic had regarding the cookies. In a buffet restaurant, there is no take out for the left-over food as buffet restaurant offer all you can eat = all you can dine-in, not all you can eat and take out. even if they did not let you take the cookies, they will not put the cookies back on the buffet area. As you pay for all the food on the buffet area to eat, doesn't mean you own all the food on the buffet to be taken out. I hope you understand the concept of buffet and regular dining in a restaurant. unless if you really love the food, you can ask them if you can buy certain items...many people are confused about how buffet restaurant operate. I just want to clear off the bad air here. if you ask me if i will be going back soon to imperial buffet..ehm..yea..as my parents loves their salads selections and my sis loves their chocolate fondue but i will definitely hoping they will improve their dining services. Mandarin is good too but repetition of salad selections really boring, dining services is number 1! so, it's fair to say both restaurants has their own uniques.

For three people, we spent about $80 on a week night. Which I think is a bit expensive for chinese buffet. They did have cold crab legs, but I didn't get a chance to try it. Their sushi also didn't look to appetizing, but everything else was pretty good. They had a really good dessert selection and had fresh fruits as well. Overall the dishes were a bit more westernized I think.

We went there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon at about 2;00 pm. Myself and my 3 teenage children.
Around 2:45 the waiters started circling our table and rushing us to leave (lunch finishes at 3:00).
II did not have time to eat some cookies that were on my dish and wrapped them in a napkin and had them beside my dish. I was planning to eat them later when I would not feel rushed.
When they brought the bill to pay it came to 64 dollars for the four of us and I gave the waiter 70 dollars and asked him to also bring me a receipt (something you always have to ask for there and there seems to be an issue every time you ask for a receipt...)
The waiter came back brought me the receipt but no change back. He turned to leave and I asked him to bring me my change. He got mad when I asked for my change put his hand on his waist and argued something. He came back and brought my change. A few minutes later the manager ( a woman she never introduced herself to me or anything ) come up to my table in a very hostile way flanked by two waiters and told me that if I wanted take out service I should ask for it. I showed her the two cookies that were wrapped on the table and I told her, do you want the cookies back? She showed me the table in a very hostile way and told me to leave the cookies on the table!! She turned around and left. I did not say anything, I was stunned. I asume the other two waiters were there in case they decided to punch us or something.
I also have to asume that they are putting the food that is left in the dises of customers back to the buffet for other people to eat. ( I would concider it my obligation to call the health department).
In most restaurants if you have food left that you want to take with you they provide a container for you to take it with you, they do not intimidate you and insult you.
I also understand that the minute the food is on your table-your dish it should not be going back to the buffet!!!
I would think that If this was somebody lets say a little more "warm blooded" there would have been quite an ugly scene there. Or is this why the manager brought her two waiters besides her to insult a woman that was there with her three teenage children??
I leave it up to the reader to come up to their own conclusions about this restaurant and to also say that this was an outing that I had planned on Sunday with my family and they managed to make me wonder what are my legal rights in a siituation like that... - Order: Lunch Buffet

I hafta say that the service at this buffet is extremely friendly. However, you don't go to buffets for the service.
Good: Tons of dessert selection, lots of fruits, salads, hot foods. Very fresh! Again, friendly service.
Not So Good: Sushi looks delicious, but is sub=par, green tea ice cream is toxic green, and tastes like chemicals.
Prices are slightly cheaper than Mandarin.
If you're looking for a buffet with plenty of desserts, want to eat a wide range of food, then this is the place for you!
