Californias Eatery Bar

As the team Rep for my adult league hockey team, I sent my son (age 21) and another of our teammates, along with their girlfriends, to have dinner at Californias and report back to the team, which was looking for a restaurant to attend for dinner after our afternoon games. My son arrived on Saturday night at about 7:00 pm for dinner. Although they were not having alcohol, they were asked for I.D.? The party of 4 were then told that they had to move away from the TV and sit at the front of the bar. There was a family with an 11 or 12 year old sitting at the table beside my sons table, who were not asked to move, or, odviously, asked for ID. Coincidentally, or maybe not, the bar was otherwise empty.My sons party were not drinking, or causing a disturbance-merely trying to order some dinner and watch the game. My son asked for an explanation and was told by the waitress that the manager said that they had to move. No reason....just that they had to move. Apparently, at Californias, if you are a young person, it is a requirement to have ID to watch a hockey game. My son was extremely offended and has vowed not to return to Californias. The four people in his party left prior to dinner. Our hockey team has chosen a restaurant which welcomes everyone. I don't understand how a bar/restaurant with 8 patrons on a Saturday night can afford to alienate customers. A note to Californias....
When you treat people with disrespect, you never get to find out how many customers you DON'T get.
