Katana Kafe & Grill

This delightful cafe is located way out in east London in the Diamond Flight Centre. The menu is very inviting especially for lovers of seafood. I enjoyed the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had anywhere, and the crab chowder was superb. Service was efficient even though the place was packed.
I've lived in London for more than 50 years and have never heard of Katana before. As of now it will be top of my list for a great meal at a very reasonable price.

Okay, I confess, I eat out too much! I had lunch at the Katana Kafe again last week. I've eaten lunch there many, many times and have never been let down.

The staff are professional, friendly and attentive. The kitchen staff are talented and serve consistently high quality dishes (it doesn't matter what you order - everything on the menu is excellent!). And the manager, David (owner of David's Bistro downtown), is always on-site making sure everything runs smoothly.

For a business or special occasion lunch, you simply can't get much better than the Katana Kafe!

We have the pleasure of flying all over the americas. This stop at the London Airport is now one of my favourite. We had a meal, a rare and pleasant treat. Yvonne the chef, was fun to watch as she moved through her kitchen with confidence and ease. I love eating but one does get tired of restaurants. This experience brought back my love of great food.

The thing that confuses me most about Katana's is how anybody manages to find it! They could use a sign - unless you know to look in the Diamond building, you could easily drive right by it. However, it's worth the effort to find - the food is superb, and the view of the runway of the London airport from your table creates a great atmosphere. Highly recommend trying this place...and maybe bringing them a bristol board sign while you're at it

I eat here often, and have only great things to say. It's a lunch-time favorite for the east London business crowd. Reservations are required almost any day of the week. The staff are experienced and attentive, the food is fantastic, and the casual dinning experience is always enjoyable. It's located literally beside the London airport runway, so there's lots to see as planes come and go during you meal! (It's especially awesome in the summer on their patio.)

I've always been a fan of this restaurant, and didn't think twice about making a lunch reservation. Upon arrival I asked for a booth for my party of 2 and was told they were reserved for larger parties. I was sat at a table only to see a party of 2 led to a booth 10 minutes later - I was not impressed. I had the chicken panini with pepper and mushrooms for lunch which was really bland. An unfortunate experience. My husband had the fish stew which he liked.

We visited this restaurant due to receiving a gift certificate. We were both impressed with basically everthing and are now telling many others about this hidden jem in London! Fantastic & would return again.

My husband and I love this little place. The wait staff is fantastic - Landon knows us by name and knows what we like. The chef, Kelly Hamilton is the best in the city and nothing that we've had there has ever disappointed. We always have a great evening out when we go to Katana.

The moment we entered we felt like we in the right place for the money we wanted to spend. we were graciously greeted by one of the male servers and quickly taken to our reserved table. Within moments we were greeted by our server Landon who described both the wine and dinner menu with such enthusiasm that we took his recommendations for the food and we let him choose all of the wines to go with our food choices. He was extremely attentive and very knowledgable of our needs. The chef seemed to be in control of everything going on in the kitchen which by the end of the meal we realized was actually the truth. Our meal was absolutely superb and the service was above and beyond what I expected from a restaurant that is truly out of the way. We highly recommend Landon as your evening server. We WILL be back to experience this wonderful atmosphere for many, many times to come.

This restaurant is amazing, the best restaurant in London by far. The food is always made to order and so tasty. Great chefs, love watching the planes but hate that it is so far out of town. It's a special treat before a vacation.
