Went for Sunday buffet. Good price, but not sure if the chef prepares the food more geared towards Canadians or just has no sense of authentic Indian flavour. Noticed some hot sauce options on the side but I would much rather have my food prepared properly. If you like affordable food that isn't spicy, I recommend Curry Garden. If you want a real Indian experience, go somewhere else.
People who rate this high either a) were really hungry at the time (which makes everything taste "amazing") or b) do not appreciate true Indian cuisine
- Order: chicken curry, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, chickpeas, onion bhaji, various vegetables, rice, naan

this is true Indian food, and its a buffet so its supposed to appeal for all kinds of people. I have cooked in Indian/ Sri Lankan hotels for 23 years and i know this is true Indian food using my experience.

The reason you may see above average ratings here is because Londoners have no clue as what real food quality, flavor, service & atmosphere really is.
It's really sad as this review could very well be for all of the restaurants in London. - Order: buffet

I visited Curry Garden restaurant about a year and a half ago with a friend. We were traveling, and went here for dinner during a long layover in our train ride.
We stumbled upon this place extremely tired and luggage dragging behind us. The server was more than hospitable, and helped us bring our things in the door. We were the only people in the restaurant, and therefore received top-notch service.
We ordered our food, and much to our delight the dinner combo we ordered came with a ton of food for a reasonable price. The dishes came on several plates, and were placed on a warming stand (beautifully designed by the way) to ensure the food stayed warm through our entire meal.
The indian food served to us was simply the best I have ever tasted. I completely gorged myself, as I could not stop myself from continuing to pick at the food far after I was full. We both ate to our maximums and STILL had leftovers to bring home.
I have unfortunately set the Curry Garden as my standard for prime Indian food. I say unfortunately, because no Indian food has come close to that of Curry Garden since I have visited there.
Highly recommended, would definitely visit again. Unfortunately I am not from London and therefore do not have the luxury of going there regularly.

Great lunch buffet for $8.99 pp and my favourite Indian lunch buffet in the city. Maybe some items could be a little hotter temperature wise. Most items were pretty mild spicy wise. The chicken in the curries is breast meat and no bones. Always a treat to go there for lunch!!
Buffet consisted of: rice, naan, chana masala (chickpea curry), curried cauliflower, dahl, butter chicken, curried chicken, tandoori chicken, salad, sauces, yogurt, and dessert of barfi, rice pudding, and gulab jamuns. Mmmmmmm.

I ordered delivery, and it was delivered promptly, so that was fine. My issue was with the food and the pricing. First of all, it was expensive. For $30, I received two little cartons of food, a piece of naan, and 2 pieces of samosa. For that amount of food, I would have expected to pay somewhere around $15 - 20. I understand that most restaurants in London charge more than those in Toronto, but this is ridiculous. The food was also not very good. The paneer makni was so bland it was practically tasteless. The chicken jalfrezi was barely mediocre, and the only thing in my vegetable samosa was potatoes.
I've bought better Indian food from my grocery store's frozen isle.
Overall, the food had none of the taste you would expect from Indian food. You can't taste any of the spices and you know what, I bet most people can make better Indian food at home based on recipes you get online.
On the brighter side, the person who answered the phone was nice and polite. Competent too, so I have no real complaints about the service.

If you want to go to a REAL authentic indian restaurant, this is the place for you! Good service, good portions according to the prices! I have been curry gardens best customer since they opened in 1994. i have been to many indian restaurants in London,Ontario to compare to curry garden, and curry garden has always been coming out the winner. The quality has never changed since they have opened. Jewel of India...... yes quality changed big time since they have opened. I always go by both restaurants, Curry garden is always busy but jewel of India is not.The food was good in jewel of India to, but as years went by the equality went down. Curry garden also have the cheapest buffet for more portions of food. So i recommend curry garden, for all those who love and want authentic Indian cuisine.

despite having just left the kitchen and being under heat lamps the food was cold and not much taste to the butter chicken which looked like mcdonalds mcnuggets without the coating on them. Cut them in a varity of shapes at least and heat up the food.

This has been both my husband and my favourite place for years now! We are both vegan and have enjoyed all of the vegan options on the menu. I have no idea what the other people who gave Curry Garden a low rating are thinking...! Our food has been nothing but over-the-top flavourful every visit.
The service is wonderful, we are always greeted with a smile, and they always make sure to come back and ask if we need anything else.If you're going out to marvel at the decor of a restaurant, go to Moxie's or another yuppie joint. We like the decor, it's "homey".
We LOVE this place and will continue to be patrons for years to come!

I have visited this restaurant several times for lunch buffet and ala carte dinner. I have always been satisfied with the food. Granted it's not fine dining, but they aren't charging you for the ambience. I noticed that the reviewers that give it a poor rating usually order typical North American selections such as butter chicken or curry beef. This is probably why you're disappointed by the food. Try the prawn puri, the biryani, the mattar paneer or the jalfrezi.

I love spicy food so this is the by far the best Indian restaurant I have found in London. They make the vindaloo sauce as hot as they can just the way I like it. The onion baji comes nice and crispy with yummy sauces. I can't say enough good about them, I will definatly continue to order from them. They are a little bit on the pricey side but I generally get 2 meals out of an order. So about $15 per meal. Not bad considering the quality of the meal... I mean compare it to Mc....., about $10 a meal. lol. Won't find anything even remotely healthy in that meal!
So in essence it's all very good, it is the only Indian food I get delivered...
- Order: onion baji, lamb vindaloo, vegetable rice, garlic naan
