  • Went here for lunch with some buddies. I was kind of scared trying a new sushi place, but it was off a recommendation of a friend.
The place looked newly renovated and the wait staff were delightful (Shadow - cool name!). All the food was great! The place wasn't busy and it was clean. Food tasted fresh and nicely presented. Gotta love the free green tea too!

  • Not a bad place for all you can eat - HOWEVER, they often didn't bring things that we ordered and at one point I watched them walk around to every table with my soup and eventually just gave it to a customer who said she would eat it. Doesn't seem like a very great system in that regard. This is the third time I went and they atmosphere had changed but it was a bit of an upgrade. The mussels on this round seemed bad though. They smelled and tasted very fishy and it was hard to keep them down. Other than that, everything else was delicious and the service was great.

  • I've been here a couple of times, not the best I've had but the food is adequate, and consistent.

I went for lunch with my friend and unfortunately there was no sashimi offered for the all you can eat. (unless I missed it) It's understandable, because sashimi is more expensive for the restaurant to buy, but I was disappointed. The special sushi pizza was good, just enough heat and not overwhelming.

When we entered, there were only 3 tables on a Friday, which led to the great, polite service. I noticed the waitress's cool name on the bill, Shadow. The bill came to around 15 dollars with tax. and service charge was not included, which I was pleasantly surprised.

From the outside, it doesn't even look like a restaurant, but give this place a try, its not bad.

  • So we wanted to try a new sushi place in London and GREATLY regreted our decision after walking in the door. It smelled like an old folks home (like moth balls) which is NOT a nice smell at a sushi place or anywhere for that matter. That aside we ordered our food and were so grossed out by the flavour and general overall taste of the sushi we hid 8 pieces in my purse so we didn't have to pay EXTRA for terrible sushi. We didn't even get any dessert, it was THAT bad. NEVER EVER returning. Didn't even ask us how our meal was at the end. WORST SUSHI WE"VE EVER HAD!! Stay away

  • I am a regular patron at conception and I will continue to be. There quality of fish is wonderful ... I have eaten at many all you can eat sushi restaurants and this restaurant is definitely one of my favorites in London... Fast and friendly service every time we go, if you like a quiet atmosphere I would have your visit on a week night :)

  • I will never be a patron there again! This was our second time going to Conception Sushi and much like some of the other complaints they forget items you have ordered. I went with a group and also brought along our 8 month old due to a babysitter debacle. Right out of the gate the two highchairs they had we broken. Both of them had the female side of the clip but the male side was missing so yay for me having a nice dinner with a baby on my lap. The second thing the waitress blocked me in with all the extra chairs form the restaurant. Fine whatever, moving on...ordering. Well they would only let us use one menu to order so trying to look at a menu and condense what everyone wanted to one order pad was a horrible and chaotic experience. Next the food started coming and the waitress placed all at the other side of the table instead of spreading out the food. Let's just say they did not fullfill the quantity requested on the order for (example there are 2pc per order of shrimp tempura and we ordered 8 so that would be 16 pieces right....nope...that equals 6 to them). Needless to say I often did not get any food at my end since all and I mean ALL the food was at the other end. So two hours later after re-ordering the same things over and over because they were forgotten or their creative math lowered the number they were to output I was starving with only having about 8 pieces of food. They said they would wave the two hour table limit....uh...damn right you will. So now 2 1/2 hours and I have had enough...I scrounged a bit more of the food from various dishes and we were packing up (most of us pretty hungry) and went up to pay. How wonderful of them to knock off 10% form the bill for an all you can eat which I walked away starving from and then add on the gratuity (10% on the bill). I scanned the bill making sure everything looked good (what I really wanted to do was walk out and tell them to call the cops as I felt the lack of food we got was criminal) when I noticed that dang service fee. I looked him straight in the eyes and said, you don't have working highchairs which could cause injury to my baby, the service was horrible, I am starving and I need that $5.67 to buy some fast food after we leave here...you take it off now I am not paying that. My other dinnermates did not notice this charge and were waiting outside so I asked if any of them paid it and they had not noticed the charge so they marched back in for a refund. We then went to Palasad for some bowling and pub food.

  • Order: Doesn't matter they probably didn't bring it.

  • We've been to conception sushi a few times now -- food was good and fresh, but, much like any ayce sushi place, you don't get about 10% of what you order.

Last night was different...... we placed and order and truly only received about half of it -- she told us we were done what we had ordered and we told her what about this and that -- she looked confused. we said, never mind, and just went on to order another round. a few of these dishes came out and then we just sat there. the waitress came again said we were all done and we told her we were still waiting for our last order to arrive!

it was frustrating to say the least. Not sure if we'll be back anytime soon. we'll see.

  • My wife and I ordered the lunch all you can eat menu and were very disappointed. There were very few options available (no sashimi, no tuna sushi, basically no interesting rolls and very limited non-sushi items compared to other all-you-can eat sushi places in London). We hoped that with the lesser variety that at least there would be higher quality but the food was quite lousy. Very small pieces of fish, the red snapper was dry and old looking, the rice seemed wrong, my wife's tofu was tasteless and even the tempura tasted much poorer than the usual at other places (didn't know this was possible). The price was around the same as the other all-you-can eat places so didn't even make it up there.

In regards to the service it was adequate. My only complaint was that the owner very loudly berated an employee right near us which was quite unprofessional.

the only plus was the decor which was actually very very nice. But I would gladly take the worse decor but much tastier food of Wondersushi, or go for the higher quality sushi and similar decor at Ichiban.

We will never again go to this restaurant. (plus they didn't even have a high chair for our infant! they said the strap was broken but i'm not sure why a new restaurant has a broken high chair!)

  • so it is fair to say that I truly appreciate good service. And I have not yet experienced that at Conception Sushi. The first time I went, my boyfriend and I ordered the all-you-can-eat dinner, and one waitress stood about five feet away from our table and watched us eat the entire time. When we pushed our edamame to the side of our table once our actual sushi came, at least three servers asked if they could take it away. We had complete intention to finish them, but my boyfriend just got so frustrated that he told them to just take the edamame away. When we got our bill, I saw that they had charged us five dollars for them. While I completely agree that people should have to pay for the food they don't finish (since it is not like a buffet, the chefs have made the sushi to your order), they should not have insisted to remove food from our table.
My boyfriend really liked the food, so we decided to return tonight. This time, we were completely ignored. First we asked for menus, not wanting to pay for the uneaten food like last time. Then once we decided on what we wanted to have, our menus sat in front of us until I waved and smiled at a baby a few tables over, and the waitress thought that this gesture was for her. Our sushi was brought fairly quickly, but my dish was missing the soup and salad that was promised on the menu. Once we finished, our empty plates also sat in front of us for quite a long period of time. We stood up, getting frustrated and wanting to leave. Finally the waitress saw us standing and came and asked if the bill was together or separate. We told her, and sat down again, assuming she would bring it to us. She didn't. Instead, she brought food and drinks and talked animatedly to the table next to us, acting as though we didn't exist.
Good service is not hard to do.

  • This sushi place isnt bad for London. The logo of the place kinda makes it seem like they are a corporate office but then you see SUSHI and you know its a sushi place. Haha.

The food wasnt bad. Nothing special. I noticed that the rolls aren't wrapped tightly enough so the rolls kind of fell apart. The rice is has an awesome taste to it but the actualy sushi fell apart when dipped in the soy sauce.

I really liked the fact there was 2 parties going on and they still managed to get our rolls to the table fast. I noticed their pork was very fatty though.

The waitresses are very kind. One knew how to speak english fluently, one didnt really understand us and the ther was 50 50.

All in all, this isnt a bad place for Lunch. I want to try the dinner. I would definitely go back.
