Veslo Family Restaurant

I visited Veslo last week for the first time after hearing about it from my son & his freinds. I was really surprised by how freindly the owners are and how tastey the food is. I will certainly go there again and tell my freinds about it. Today my husband decided to make Veslo our Saturday brunch tradition :).

Pros - Owner is very friendly and has a very good understanding of the food he sells. Quality of food is good and homemade tasting, prices reasonable, simple yet nicely decorated and inviting

Cons - quantity of potatoes as a side was a bit small

Good, but not great.

I had read reviews praising the food at this unassuming-looking restaurant, and was anxious to test it myself. I must admit, I was somewhat disappointed.

The menu indicated that beans, vegetables, and cabbage were offered as sides, but when we asked were told that only coleslaw was available. Not great for families with children. Plus, the coleslaw was very vinegary.

The other side - potatoes - tasted good, but there were too few of them.

The schnitzel was good, and our son really enjoyed his order of pork chops. Our daughter was less impressed with the rolled schnitzel, but this was her first experience with European food. The Vienna schnitzel was pretty good.

The crepes were quite yummy and the ice cream tasted homemade.

We might revisit this restaurant, but only after trying other places that offer a similar menu.

This is the best restaurant in all of Kitchener as far as I am concerned, and I have been to many of them. Bob and Vesna the owners make you feel like you are in their home and part of the family. The food is always excellent and so is the service. I have introduced many people to Veslos and they have been more than satisfied. The best advertising is word of mouth, and trust me once you get a taste in your mouth of their food , you will spread the word of their great restaurant. Being a single mom I find I can definately afford to eat at their restraunt , and know I am getting great value for my dollar. At the end of every meal they bring you a sample of their great deserts. Always a smile , always great food and good prices. My Number 1 place to go and eat . I know they will have great success. Teresa , Jenni and Kevin Z.

Great service, the owner is a super nice person and the food was home made and delicious. A very nice change and a taste of Europe. To try something different but close to Greek, try this place. Very cosy and warm. Definitely will go back.

We thought the service was great. Ordered soup for a starter and arrived very quickly and was a very generous portion. The main arrived shortly after finishing the soup and we had ordered a small platter for the two of us and couldn't manage to finish it all due to the quantity. Their platter had a variety of different meats and sausages which had an abundance of flavours. After living in Europe for 4 years many years ago, I have searched for across Canada for similiar tasting cuisine and have been unable to find such until now. We will definitly be returning in the very near future. This truely a hidden little gem in Kitchener
