Taka Japanese Restaurant

Way too over -rated, The Sushi is weak. Samura or even Ye's is much better. How is this place still open? The prices are off more then the taste.

It was decent enough sush, but nothing really stood out as fantastic.

The fish wasn't as fresh as would have been liked, and the portions were smaller than I've seen elsewhere. We had miso soup, salmon and toro nigiri sushi, and a few rolls ($95 with tip and 2 beers). This is pretty much our standard order everywhere and we usually end up full. But tonight we both walked out afterwards feeling like we forgot something. Come to think of it, we weren't served any tea, which is usually a staple with sushi.

The restaurant is nice and small and has a few private booths along with the regular tables. The staff were very friendly and were perfectly attentive.

If I were ever on this side of town and had a sudden craving for sushi, I'd go again. But you can find better value and fresher tastes elsewhere around town.

Went to a birthday, and ended up being charged 50 dollars for a 2 dollar menu since we lost teh one they gave us when we had them cater an event.

The atmosphere isn't the best, I don't much like the decor but the sushi I ordered was decent and came in a short amount of time.

I would go again, but I wouldn't expect much from them.

I am a regular at Taka, I absolutely love the food, not to mention the great service!

I've visited Taka Japanese on several occassions, and have always had a great time. Service is quite good, and while I've had better sushi, Taka is the best I've had yet in K-W.

The atmosphere is very intimate, especially in the closed booths. The owner/s are superfriendly. Definitely will visit again.

Have been there twice now for lunch. Both times I've had the Bento Box since I like the variety. Excellent service, food and value for your money.

The bento comes with miso soup to start, 4 pieces of sushi, salad, a terikayi (chicken/beef or salmon) dish, 3-4 pieces of vegetable tempura, 2 shrimp tempura (which is the best I've ever had) and 2 dumplings. So good but never enough room to finish it all! Bento Box is about $12 I think - great price for all you're getting.

Atmosphere is nice - lots of private booths with curtains. Sushi counter. Service is good as well.

Very impressed with Taka. Awesome presentation and fresh tasting fish. The red dragon roll was great! I have found my favorite sushi restaurant! My kids loved the cali rolls.

restaurant is nice, food is good but i found prices were a bit high for sushi. downtown is cheaper.

I am a regular at Taka. The food quality and service is consistent- very very good! The staff is polite and not overbearing. Portions and pricing are more than fair.

Excellent food, very friendly staff, and comfortable atmosphere.
Be sure to make reservation so you can sit in a private booth.
