  • ADDENDUM: Added Sunday - It wasn't just the taste of the food that was awful or the way it was cooked. I got up today on this lovely long weekend to FOOD POISONING. I'm sick as a dog. Thank you Red Lobster!

Well, we went to the Red Lobster for dinner tonight - and once again we were disappointed. I ordered the Grilled Lobster, shrimp skewer, and scallops dish for 28.99. What a disaster. The baked potato (side dish) was crusted in salt, and to me the best part is the skin - so that ended that. - The Atlantic lobster tail was literally dripping an orange oil, tasted strange (?) and was chewy and miserably overcooked, never mind being really small. The shrimp skewer was flattened, swimming in salty oil and overcooked or twice cooked? The scallops - oh my - I have never had such atrocious scallops in my life. Small - Tough, chewy with a leathery outer skin. Simply disgusting and I spat them out. You could have bounced them off the walls they were so rubbery. The appetizer I had chosen was the Seafood stuffed mushrooms. I expected alot more flavour than I got. Also, the clam chowder which for years was a favourite of mine, was thin and had almost nothing in it apart from cubed potato. My dinner partner however did well. She ordered the escargot to start - small but delicious, and the crab linguini alfredo - a huge dish and also very delicious. - Be prepared to take it home for three more lunches though! Since this is the third time I have been served overcooked dreadful lobster here this is the last time. Having checked the nutrition data oline however, I was not prepared to go on dialysis come Monday for salt poisoning from getting the delicious and rich Linguini. Unfortunately many of our favourite restaurants were getting ready to close so the choice was limited to this or a fast food place and we were hungry. As it was, I thought I ordered carefully, and ate carefully and still managed to consume twice the daily recommended dose of sodium. This restaurant probably has the UNhealthiest food anywhere, so overloaded with salt and fat and grease - it's almost toxic. Even the broccoli (side dish) was highly salted. Carl, our server was great, friendly, and efficient. Our meals were served in a reasonable time frame, however we arrived late, 9 p.m. and the restaurant was not busy. $78.00 with tip for 2 people. We will never be returning.

  • Order: chowder, stuffed mushrooms lobster and shrimp crab linguini

  • With the high prices that this chain charges, Piggy would expect great service, great food and great times, right? Wrong!
First of all this place does not take reservations so when Piggy and the team showed up to celebrate a special occasion, guess what? We were asked to wait for 45 minutes, and twice the number of people that came after us were seated before we did. Maybe if they hired high school students who actually have grade 9 math, they would figure the sitting schedule out somehow.
So now its 1 hour since the group arrived and the food orders just went in. When the food shows up 20 minutes later and we put that greasy, piping hot, buttery, cholesterol packed shrimp in your bellies what happens? The fat packed ball of food hits the cold beer and turns into clumps of grease, which proceeds to clog your full digestive tract before it enters your blood stream and slows down the flow of your blood as it comes back out through the pores in your face. And when you manage to dull the insatiable hunger as you finish the meal you start to wish you had gone Mandarin, at least there you could eat the same crap and know exactly how much you will be spending.
The lobster tails and shrimp were like rubber, overcooked. The only thing soft on them was the butter and oil they were covered in. Everything seemed to be deep fried, and even the salad was stale. Piggy’s stomach has not been the same since. This has to be among my personal worst restaurants to eat at.

  • Order: Lobster Feast, Shrimp Feast, Cholesterol Feast,Grilled Salmon, Sole, Shrimp Linguini

  • For a chain, I have to say I'm always happy when I go to Red Lobster. I almost always get the fresh fish special. This time I had the Rainbow Trout, but wished I had ordered the Talapia. Regardless, it was good. Had it with broccoli and baked potato. Love the buns and the salad with balsamic dressing is just fine. My spouse had the Endless Shrimp. He tried all 6 kinds of shrimp -really liked the garlic shrimp with the seasoned bread crumbs and the grilled shrimp. I agreed with him, as I tried one of each. 1 beer & 1 pop and we were stuffed for $54.00. This is not haute cuisine but for $54.00 we were both really happy. They also have good cheesecake, but we didn't order it this time, as the endless shrimp filled us up. Really good service, as well.

  • Order: Endless Shrimp, Rainbow Trout both with salad & biscuits

  • I was driving down the street and saw I sign that I thought had said, "Steak and Lobster Special for $19.99., or was it wishful thinking? After being seated, I asked the server about it. She had to go and ask someone. She came back to inform me that they did not have that special. I didn't argue since I may have been wrong. So, I ordered the Shrimp on a Skewer instead, which I enjoyed. Enjoyed the biscuits, but had to ask for butter for them.

  • Order: Shrimp on a Skewer.

  • This is almost always my choice of "treat" meal as I love seafood. Definitely one of the better seafood places and reasonably priced considering the fact that seafood is normally expensive.

As always, I got the Ultimate Feast, which is great for getting a little bit of everything without being overwhelmed by anything in particular. The starting biscuits and salad are nothing exciting but taste decent. The garlic and walt's favourite shrimp are always good, although sometimes I wish I could have them de-tailed ahead of time. I always eat them first as they're best hot. The lobster-tail was, as per usual, good, although I find that it does get stuck to the shell sometimes. The crab legs are sometimes a bit flavourless for crab but they're normally very good.

This time the service was a little slow. I didn't get to ask for a water like I normally do and we weren't really given an option for sides, just asked if we wanted a baked potato or not. Otherwise, it was as good as always.

  • Order: The Ultimate Feast

  • It's a Red Lobster. Don't expect too much, and you will not be disappointed. The food is very good, the service is attentive and it isn't overly expensive. It isn't cheap, though. I especially like their garlic shrimp and shrimp alfredo. Their biscuits are excellent.

  • Order: Shrimp alfredo.

  • Decent food and all, but would it kill them to take reservations? It's really annoying trying to make Red Lobster part of your events if they don't take reservations.

  • My mom and I always go to Red Lobster for our Mother-Daughter shopping days out and we always spoil ourselves when we're there. The past few times weren't as enjoyable and I have to say this last one was the worst ever. To start things off, the hostess picked 2 pre chewed pieces of gum off our table as she sat us...
We like to order new things when we go because we love sea food and dont really have it that often. My pasta was swimming in sauce, I was only able to eat maybe 5 or 6 bites, and my mom's lobster was bad! The server had checked in after a few bites, and everything was alright at that point, I haddnt discovered the lake at the bottom of my bowl, and mom haddnt touched her lobster yet. Then the server never came back until we were so discusted we were ready for the bill.
Red lobster has totally gone down hill and we deffinately do not plan on ever going back.

  • Order: Crab Linguini Alfredo and Fire Grilled Lobster and Shrimp

  • The restaurant was very busy (Valentines Day). Neither my husband or I had been to a Red Lobster before. My husband loves seafood and thoroughly enjoyed his meal, mentioned going back to try other items on their menu. Considering this is a seafood restaurant I was pleasantly surprised with regard to how good their "non-seafood" meal was.

  • Order: I had a glass of red wine and chicken linguine, my husband had the Fisherman's Special and a belgian beer
