Popeye's Chicken and Seafood

Popeye's has long been my favourite fried chicken joint (other than Bojangles in the states) and I was really excited when I saw they were opening up a location in KW.
The spicy chicken, southern-style biscuits, and cajun gravey are all DELISH! The service on the other hand is abysmal. I've been several times and always had to wait for my meal to be packed up. With one exception they've also made a mistake on every order.
What a shame..... the management really needs to pull up thier socks and fix the service. True, the foods good enough to bring me back, but only when I have 15 minutes to kill waiting.

Service is Ok , We tried Butterfly shrimps Tackebox one time , it was nice too..............

I don't know where to start. Popeye's Chicken has potential to be great,
but with TERRIBLE management and service it’s going down the hill.
- My biggest issue Is with the food. It’s always cold. And the people working there always lie on how fresh the chicken is and how long has it been sitting there.
- My wife and I always buy 5 piece chicken strips and chicken wraps.
- Every single time they lied; Chicken is cold and doesn’t taste right.
- On 2 occasions, with great difficulty, I had them to batter & cook fresh pieces of chicken.
- And even then, manager/owner was condescending, implying that I should eat chicken there and not take it home since it could get “cold”. Real mofo.
- What’s going on with the tables? Always dirty, they never clean them?! Wtf?
- I wish somebody would buy them out and make it right. There are no words to how disgusted I’m with that place.
- Great potential, but!

I went during the first week. It was the worst experience imaginable. Service was deadly slow and incompetent. The place was filthy, the people were very poorly trained and nearly every second customer returned because of missing items. They even got closed down for a day by Region of Waterloo health inspectors.

I have returned a couple of times since, because the food is somewhat promising. Things have gotten better, but the place is still filthy and the service is still suffering.

Our visit was a nightmare. We were treated very rudely and told to "get out" when we complained. They are very unprofessional, discourteous and indifferent towards their customers. Read: Zero Work Ethic.

Among other things,
1. they did not give us what we ordered.
2. they charged us for items that they did not have
3. the wait was incredibly long (seems a common thread here)
4. they charged us for empty cups (when I already paid for bottled water, which they did not have)

They have no business sense: Someone needs to tell them how to run a business. I would be surprised if this place survives another month or two. My next email is to the franchiser. You can file a complaint by going to popeyesdotcom cus_service web site.

This was my first visit to Kitchner from the U.S. Now, I know why my hosts (who live and work in Kitchner) were reluctant to take us to this restaurant in the first place.

Been to this place several times, even right when it opened. Sometimes it can be really slow and other times its fast. The food is always good and I give props to the cashiers for the people they deal with daily. People need to not be so rude and realize that this is a new restaurant and just because there is no line doesnt mean anything, they have delivery too.

You need to give the employees a break, remember they dont get paid enough to deal with someone complaining over something so minor like a mess up with the order. It happens, we are all human. There are worse things going on in this world than not getting a chicken breast.

We visited Popeyes last week , We already been to Popeyes in States, our favorite is Chicken Strips and Shrimps with Sweet & Sour sauce, Cajun Batter fries and Mash with gravy were really cool, I think they have made their service satisfactory too.

I have visited this restaurant on four occasions.
1) The first time I visited they had just opened the new location. The wait was well over 30 minutes so I simply packed up and left.
2) The second time I visited I struck it rich, or so I thought. I ordered quite quickly, paid and then stood at the side of the counter for 15 minutes only to be told that they "were out of spicy chicken" and I would have to take regular or wait another 20 minutes. I took the regular which was okay.
3) The third time I visited, I stood in line to order for 25 minutes (I was both stuborn for curious.. just how long would this take??) After ordering and paying I stood beside the counter for 10 minutes only to be told that they were again out of spicy chicken - regular or wait 20 minutes. I asked for a refund and left.
4) The fourth time I visited it was at 11:45am on a weekday. The place was dark and there was a sign on the door saying the restaurant would be open at approx. 1:00pm. So much for servicing the lunch crowd.

So, out of four visits I was only able to EAT once. I take solace in knowing that A & W is just down the road on Homer Watson.

This is the WORST restaurant I've been to in a LONG time!

First warning should have been the dozen or so flies hovering in the kitchen.

Only one customer ahead of us, yet it took them 15 minutes to get our food to us, even though they had about 50 or 75 pieces of chicken under a heat lamp. Why couldn't they be making it fresh?!?

The kid on the register spoke english well enough, but there were some significant comprehension issues with him.. Manager didn't help him much, just watched him fumble.

Chicken burger - Stale bun, about a half of a cup of mayo, tomato hadn't been cored.. no lettuce! Mac Salad was ordered as a side, was lumpy and tasted stale!

Spicy 3 piece Chicken meal - NOT SPICY!!! Tasted burnt, yet was slightly pink in middle. Mashed potatoes ordered as side tasted like instant!

2 piece Fish combo - Absolutely horrible! They only had one piece of fish available, (no clue when it was cooked) so had to cook another. I sat and listened to the buzzer go off on the fryer for what seemed like forever until someone finally realized it was done cooking. Fries ordered as side were cold and undercooked.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS FILTHY MISMANAGED RESTAURANT AGAIN! Contacting head office to inform them of the shambles this guy calls his restaurant. They're giving Popeye's a BAD name! No markers on chicken to let them know when it would go bad or how long it had been sitting out.

As we were eating, a gentleman got up and told off the manager saying "I travel to the states and eat at Popeye's ALL the time. This is nothing like their food, the service is crap and your restaurant is dirty. The chicken was burnt .. Just look at all the smoke in the restaurant from your fryers.." The manager didn't offer an apology, only excuses and that whole "The Customer is Always Right" pshya.. not at this place.

HORRIBLE!! Stay away!

First time customer to this fast food outlet. The overall appearnace of the place was dismal and the counter was messy with garbage and food debris. We tried to talk to the manager due to the fact I have a shellfish allergy but kept getting interupted by irate customers who either had been waiting a very long time or were very upset with the meals they had received. Needless to say, we never got to the point of ordering because of the disorganization that was going on at the front counter. We left and we will not return.
