  • I have been to Niko Niko many times. My favourite dish is the CRUNCH. So amazing. You get salad and soup with any entree order. I enjoy it everytime. I went to Yee's sushi after visiting Niko Niko and was disgusted. Niko Niko seems to blow most places out of the water.

  • Usually not a fan of thick rolls, but I really enjoy Niko Niko's rolls. I love their plates as well! The shapes are so fun. I especially like the really long one! It looks silly!

It's about $10 for a roll but their rolls are BIG and FILLING!! So, it's definitely worth it! My favourite is the rainbow roll! So colourful, so festive, and SO scrumptious! Their rolls also come with salad and soup! Good deal, right!?

Overall, I highly recommend this place if you aren't hungry enough for all you can eat!

WARNING: they have very sporadic hours, so make sure you call in beforehand. I went on a Friday night once and it was closed! So rude!

  • There are some times when you're just not feeling like all-you-can-eat sushi. It's admittedly rare for me, since I do like to stuff my face with piles of mediocre rolls, but the mood for 'quality over quantity' does strike occasionally -- hence our visit here. Niko Niko is a pleasant, quiet establishment that serves your mid-upper plateau of Japanese cuisine: no real surprises, but consistently good.

My only reservation is their inconsistency in hours: my partner and I tend to dine late, yes, but we have been turned away at least three times at Niko Niko's. Why? Because the kitchen was closing... 45 minutes before it's supposed to. If we were showing up 15 minutes before closing, I would understand, but if you say you're open until 9:00, you should be accepting customers that arrive just after 8:00.

  • They have a cozy little place downtown, and it's never been crowded every time we've gone, with usually only 2 or 3 other tables. The sushi and accompanying food is great and nicely presented.

Although the food was a little slow the staff is pretty nice. A good selection of different rolls. Niko Niko is where we go to eat sushi in Kitchener when we're not feeling like all you can eat (which isn't that often, unfortunately).

  • Been a HUGE fan of Niko Niko for a few years now. The Love Love roll is my favorite. All meals include salad and meso soup. Salad dressing is made in house and tastes great. I told the own how much I loved it and she was kind enough to give me some to take home.
All you can eat sushi is okay but this place is GREAT all the time.

  • I always eat here at least 1 every two weeks. The presentation of the food is absolute art. But the best part is eating the food, yum yum yum. The serive is average, but could be better some days. Overall, a very relaxing atmosphere :)

You don't know what your missing... dine in and expereince the difference. I Love Niko Niko ^^

  • Niko Niko became my replacement for Ye's a couple years back and it's still top notch in my opinion. The miso soup and salad is a great start to every meal and the sushi is quite good. I usually order the dragon roll (eel). That roll is so damn tasty; give it a try. If you want to save a few dollars you can downgrade to the super California roll, which is basically the same thing minus the shrimp.

The place is usually empty and quiet. It's a nice atmosphere to relax and enjoy your food. I've never seen more than 4 tables of people, so expect your food to be prepared right away.

My only gripes would be the service and the selection. Although they are friendly, they tend to hide in the kitchen while you eat and you may have to wait 10-15 minutes before getting a tea refill. As for the selection, I've only had the sushi here so I can't comment on the dinner menu. There are only a handful of quality rolls and the rest have this weird mixed glop that they stick on the rice. It's hard to explain, but try to avoid those.

If you want a filling meal without breaking the wallet or sacrificing quality for quantity (ye's), check this place out.

  • I was visiting from out of town this week, and I decided to eat at Niko Niko after reading overall positive reviews for the restaurant on this site. If people actually like this place enough to give it good reviews, I'm scared to eat at some of the less popular sushi restaurants in the city. The rolls weren't necessarily bad, there was just an extreme lack of variety (all the rolls have more or less the same ingredients). Each of the rolls we ordered had an unidentifiable orange seafood-ish glop on top, and the rolls were horribly put together. The sushi pieces fell apart as soon as you tried to pick them up - messy and annoying. This place is extremely mediocre. I definitely won't be back.

  • I've been to Niko Niko a bunch of times. The food is always great and the prices are fantastic for what you're getting.

I had never had "hot" sushi before my first visit to Niko's, and I was a bit taken aback when the Volcano roll arrived at our table - but it's incredible. One of my favourite's that I keep going back to.

The service is hit or miss. Sometimes you feel like you're the only people in there (even when you're not), and others you feel like you're being avoided. It can often be difficult to get exactly what you want as well, particularly if you are wanting to get a variety of sushi.

But all in all, an excellent sushi place right in downtown Kitchener.

  • A very nice sushi place with nice decorations. It has a very quiet and calm atmosphere. Servers were kind but not very warming. Sushi took a while, but possibly worth the wait. Food was artistically placed and looked very pretty and appetizing. Overall, a very good sushi place for K-W.
