We went there for my son's birthday. I have not been there since they have renovated (which was years ago). Growing up I remembered it was the place to go after a day of fun at sportsworld. The evenings was more the college crowd to just drink and be social. Most recently i took my family there on a Friday night. We had to wait 45 minutes but we didn't mind considering it had a nice lobby with a huge couch. The decor resembled the true north with of course moose heads everywhere. i really liked the stone hearth fireplace. The kids really liked the ancient snowmobile overheard. It was a great experience and the server was really friendly and hospitable. The food was okay, not great. Maybe i should have ordered the lumberjack platter or something. Overall we all enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend to others.
- Order: bbq chicken sandwich, salmon and ancient grains, kids pizza.

To the Bar manager
My Family and myself often visitt for food and drinks.. Its actually my favorite place to eat...We live an hour away in Arthur ...I had my 45th Birthday dinner on Sat. 21st with all my family we sat up at the bar tables near the exit door there was 10 of us ..we all had a great time until hours later in the night we became very very sick vomitting .diarhea stomach cramps very very severe...It seems to be only us who had deep fried foods that became very sick.My 45th Birthday ended up being a disaster with the next day and today still feeling like crap. I cant see wanting to come back in the near future with us becoming this sick .. I am wondering if anyone else has contacted you as to becoming sick . I am very dissapointed in how the Birthday dinner ended . Darlene McIntosh

The only reason we went for dinner was because we were sick of waiting for a table at another restaurant nearby which was empty, and it was closeby. The last time we had dinner here, we weren/t very impressed, but thought we would give it another shot. The good - the atmosphere is great, the service is also good considering that they are always busy. The bad - the food! yes, the majority of anything that I have eaten here is bland! I ordered the philly cheese steak. i like how it wasnt dry, however it was tasteless - same with the mash that came with it. The French onion soup however, was pretty good and we were pleasantly surprised by that, as well as the kids chicken fingers - those were tasty. Quesadillas were tasteless and so was my husbands steak sandwich. Not worth the $70 tab for 2 adults and 2 kids (no alcohol) - we did tip the waitress generously as she did a good job, but the food however needs improvement. Probably won`t be returning unless it`s for drinks only.
- Order: philly cheese steak, steak sandwich, kids chicken fingers, kids cheesae quesadillas, French onion soup

After having a terrible experience in January (and writing about it here), we decided to do the unthinkable and revisit this restaurant.
Things have definitely changed! We've been a few times recently and each time we were greeted with friendly hellos and treated very well. The food seems to have improved also.
We are very happy to be back and hope that things continue to be great!

We had told the waiter that we were in a hurry and he didn't dissapoint. The food arrived and was excellent. Probably the best wings I've had in a long time. Meaty and perfectly done. Great experience overall!

The food was good. Came out in a timely manner. servers were a bit all over the place but it was a busy night. One thing I noticed (only after a friend had mentioned it to me) was that there is very little diversity in the servers that work there. I didn't believe it but we were there when the shifts were changing and it was true! we talked to one of the servers about it and she just shrugged and really had nothing to say. I'm a little tired of places in Kitchener that are "American traditional" or Italian cuisine that don't hire people of ethnicity for the FOH. Maybe its just me but places owned by the charcoal group and moose winooskis don't like hiring people of ethnicity as servers. COME ON PEOPLE just cuz you serve American food doesn't mean it cant be served by an ethnic person. Kitchener is such a culturally diverse place. But it was just an observation that we made.
- Order: beer, cocktails, nachos and dip

I noticed the lack of ethnic diversity as well! Not only in the servers, but the diners too. Perhaps it was just one of those nights, but my party and I were the only non-European visible minorities the night that we went.

went there sat. night for a easy going dinner party with friends. booked the table 2 wks in advance. the girls who answer he phone are not the greatest, but adequate enough to reserve a table.
we had a table for 11 and seated at a really long table in the middle of the dining area squished between 2 other tables. hardly any room to move around and had to pull your chair in each time some one on the far side of the table returned. pretty loud there, but this is what type of atmosphere is here.
we had 2 servers to split up the table and bills. the man we had was ok- a little sarcastic and could have been a more friendly. he did get all the bills correct- so that was good
NO i did not get the infamous pie in the face (aka whip cream filled coffee filter). although i did spin the wheel for fun and i did end up getting pie in the face. the second i spinned it it went to reverse pie (aka you get to pick someone to get pie in the face)
i ordered the beef fajitas and the bf and i shared 8 wings in mild and honey garlic- meh they were ok Morty's on King St. in Waterloo is way better for wings
bf- order the Algonquin sandwhich- enormous!!! if you are hungry this is the meal to order. served on two long french garlic bread slices with beef and huge pile of fries with gravy. the gravy is very good.
friends- steaks, platter, clubhouse sandwich, chicken Parmesan and pastai was told by the friends who ordered the steaks it was decent, but everything else on plate was nasty (ex: vegs, deep friend onion strings and potatoes)
my friends ended up bringing me a birthday cake so we did not order dessert.
- Order: steak dinners, sandwhiches, fajitas, pasta, beers, apps (artichoke dip, chicken wings, garlic bread)

Fairly good place with nice atmosphere and friendly service. Decent food, what impressed me most was the service from the staff. Will try some more regular restaurants before going there again.

Moved to Kitchener this year and been to Moose Winooski's several times. Love going there to watch basketball games or socialize with friends. The food is good but I get very tempted to get the Platter's which can be pricey. Alcohol is also pricey but there is still a good selection. Great place to dine with your family also although during the weekend it can get very busy. Servers are also very nice and treated my party and I very good every visit!

Been going to the Moose for years for "date night". Last time we went was on Jan. 21, 2011. It was very noisy and hard to hear. I told our server that we both had hearing issues and asked her to be patient with us.. She didn't check on our food (we sat in the bar, as always). We ordered calamari and it was stale. Had to return it through the bartender. The manager checked on us and we ordered a different item. A staff member came to our table and dropped a pan of garlic bread and left. We didn't order garlic bread. I had to ask the nearby tables if it was theirs. I complained about this to the server. She seemed unconcerned. When our nachos finally arrived we were ready to leave so asked for a take out box. Our server dropped a box and the bill and left. When she returned to collect the payment she seemed angry. I wanted to tell her how frustrated I was with our experience and that we were regulars but she wouldn't even look at me. This made me angry enough to leave a ZERO tip. Once the bill was paid I tried to tell her how I felt and she interrrupted me. She said, "I'm done arguing with you. Good night." She left me standing there. I explained to the manager (she seemed new) what the problem was and she offered to give us something for next time but did not mention the server. I told her we would not be back. She only said, "Oh well. That's your choice, I guess."
Customer service seems to have gone out the window here. We have since found a new and more welcoming place to spend our weekly date-nights and play trivia.
- Order: calamari, nachos

In this day and age, in a city where restaurants are a stone's throw from each other and a dime a dozen, you would think that a cookie-cutter eatery like the Moose would remember that the customer is always right.
