Metro Restaurant

Why is this place still open?? The food is weak. Any blind armless European lady can cook better then this place. It is ok if you are a mungi cake but for Europeans who know this kind of food don't bother.

We went in to this restaurant on a Sunday, and it was an extremely hopping litte place. I was a little scared to take my parents to this restaurant considering the past reviews, but they must have changed something up because I didn't observe any problems at all... We had to wait a few minutes for a table though, but it was well worth the wait. We received huge portions, great beer, speedy service from our waiter, and an overall good experience. Expect me to return!

Good food with large portions but awful service! It's a shame the blonde waitress is so rude it really turned us off eating there, i doubt we will eat there ever again. Food is well priced and comes with a good variety of sides, the perogies are one of the best i have ever had! This place really needs to improve on service, the waiter setting the table next to us dropped a fork on the floor picked up and placed it on the table he didn't even clean it! ( yuck)

I have drove by the Metro yesterday because I saw the sign Best Schnitzel in Town! I have never been so I decided to call my parents who happen to love schnitzel and off we went. The restaurant has a cozy feel it kind of reminded me of the restaurants that I have been to in Europe, its not overly fancy or anything but it sure lives up to its standards of having the best schnitzel!!. The service was quick and efficient and very polite. The waitress was not overly annoying like in some other restaurants. Its just one of those simple restaurants that serve huge portions and great food. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Try the platter for two it is huge and will feed a family of three with plenty of leftovers!!!!

Awsome, we just came back from dinner at the Metro and I was a little concerned after I read all the reviews about the service. I have to say that it was a really busy night but we were seated quickly. The waitress told us about the new beer on tap Pilsner. She said it was from the Czech. Rep and it was a good choice since that is where she was born. The beer was fantastic. We then ordered the Metro Platter. It was so good and enough to feed a family of 10. We even packed it to take home. I have to say the service was great. Its not one of those check on you a hundred times with you kind of places, but thats what I like fast food and friendly service for a great price!

I thought the service was great and the food was so good it's a local establishment and I have been going to the Metro for years and the everything has always been super. I always order the schnitzel with the creamy mushroom sauce and have a Staropramen beer. I was at the Metro last Sat and I took my parents who are of european origin and we had a nice chat with one of the waitresses about her living in Europe. Overall it was a great time!

Is it at all possible that the "rude waitress" one keeps reading of, is in fact an owner? If not, why would any sensible restaurant owner want her working there to represent their establishment?

The schnitzel was O.K.
We wouldn't recommend this restaurant, only because it was so greasy.
It was pretty obvious that to get fresh schnitzel you need to be there early. They were not happy to see customers walk through their doors past 7:00 it seemed.

Thank you to Adam and the blonde waitress at the Metro. We booked for a party of 13 about three weeks ahead of our schedule; and although we were told they don't normally take reservations; Adam assured us a table for a Saturday afternoon "brunch". The food was absolutely WONDERFUL; the service was attentive. The portions were HUGE!
This was a wonderful "Christmas Dinner" for a family meeting up from literally all parts of Ontario. My husband is Czech and so I am familiar for the past 20 plus years of the traditional Czech styly "Christmas" dinner. It exceeded my expectations and I believe my Canadian family also very much enjoyed their meals. Again, I thank Adam for his patience in dealing with me over the phone to arrange this family Christmas at a restaurant NONE of us had ever been to. The overall experience was EXCELLENT! Dakoui (sorry for the mispelling? to the cooks at the restaurant).
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

The best food ever! I have been coming to the Metro for a couple of years and I have to say this is a hidden gem. The food is great as is the staff. The schnitzel is light and crispy and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. I recommend the platter for two. If anyone has anything bad to say I would tell them to try it for themselves!!!!
